Really good questions and from what I heard was great info. I have been inquisitive about the trac tractor as well. Did NOT even think about how much smoother it would be. Great question and thank you. Good test run, sir. Looking forward to future similar videos. Really great idea to get in the cab with them and pick their brain. Congrats!

That's an impressive planter to have that kind of singulation at 7 mph. Granted it does look like a pretty smooth seedbed, but still.

Big Tractor Power you have a lot of experience up in the cabs of various types of tractors.Which one do you think is the quietest in the cab?

A few posts ago i asked a few questions. One of my questions was "is Big Tractor Power" located in Kentucky? My question went unanswered. It appears so or its close to your where presentation people reside. I am amazed at the technology made and used by food producers compared to the analog days of decades past. What dose this piece of equipment cost. I enjoy very much what you folks provide to anyone curious enough to view and thank you for your dedication to subscribers and casual viewers. Best Regards

Mark Stengel I believe he has said before he lives in southern Illinois. Must be close to KY. He has been just north of me in Dyersville IA before and NE Iowa filming Iowa Dairy Boys. I think he travels a lot.

Thank you for watching. I am pretty sure I answered that but I may have missed it. Yes Big Tractor Power is based in Kentucky. I do not know how much a 2150 is. You can probably price one on CaseIH.com. On vintage item video I have prices that I get from a book called “Official Guide Tractors and Farm Equipment”. The new items I just don’t have quick pricing info on.
@chunkmen6 жыл бұрын
Well mark I went ahead and figured out the price for you. A Stock (sold in NW Ohio) model is 249,580 dollars. One with all the super fancy gizmos and dohickys is 498,794 dollars.

It looked like he (it) would drop the planter on top of the headland rows. They satellite guidance must turn on & off the individual row units (I'm assuming)?
@bigtractorpower6 жыл бұрын
Yes the gps controls each row unit. The planter drops in on the seeded ground and as each row hits the unseeded ground they turn on. If you look on the screen map you see all dark green where the planter has been. The operator talk about the light green spots where the planter was starting each row on the point row angles in the field.

Its unbelievable how high tech and accurate this stuff is.
@Thevacomaticvacuumcorner6 жыл бұрын
so its like cruise control?? what is the advantage of that ? better accuracy?so the driver has to turn it around and lower the planter or sit back and let the machine go by it self??
@samkom335 жыл бұрын
@@Thevacomaticvacuumcorner yes its like cruise control +++ it even remember where it plants every seed, so it dont double seed driving over already coverd ground.. actually its fully possible to program the systems to turn around itself at the end of the field. if you wanted to, but i would hate seeing it fail and the tractor suddenly started planting in the neighbours living room. hehe but the auto stear make the life easyer for the driver,, when crossing the field he can adjust the settings on the monitors and adjust the planter and so on. + he can eat, drink ore watch a video on KZbin, IF ITS A BIG FIELD. haha

seems a little short acres per day. 20 foot planter at 5 mph get 90 to 110 acres per day, on contour farms.
@bigtractorpower6 жыл бұрын
How far do you travel between fields? How fast is the ground worked ahead of the planter if you have tillage? These are limiting factors for this farm.
