They're amazing bikes but make sure you get it used! Don't pay full price for one. Especially since the 650R's are a thing now. But keep in mind the slight jump from a 500 to a 650. I went from a 300 to this bike so that was huge for me. If you're already on a 500 just consider that. Be honest with yourself and see if you're ready for even more power ;)

I have the same bike. It's very underrated and people just lump it together with the other naked bikes from the other brands, but it's definitely a lot better than the competition. I think it puts out more power than claimed...idk but it's fast and sounds awesome. In 2018 I believe it was the only one offering a 4-cyl engine while the others were all 2-cyl. Only thing I did to mine was the tail eliminator, the same windscreen, and a bagster seat. Definitely needs a new seat and bagster makes a very nice one that fits as good as stock, very comfortable. I'm not ditching the stock exhaust because it looks nicer than all the aftermarket options, and it has an electronically controlled valve that basically makes it bypass the muffler/cat above a certain RPM. People would normally pay extra for something like that aftermarket but I think all the exhausts are downgrades from the stock unit in this case. Plus I like being able to sneak around quietly at low revs.

It does sound nice ! I remember back in the day on my 550 seca had a RC header on it and it screamed nice. I was in my early 20s then now I’m in my early 60s, must be going through my second childhood cuz I want that sound again

Those headers aren't nearly as beautiful as the factory unit... I have this bike as well, bought at a heavy discount. I never would have bought it at full price, but i do love it. I like the wide, flat bars, and being able to stand up if I need to. I am more of a dual sport guy, but this is an excellent, do it all road bike.

I have one of these and I love it. Did the power commander fix the dead spot near 7,000 rpm? Also, I didn’t see any protection on the left side engine cover (stator side). My first real street bike was a C50t (not counting the dual sports) and when I first got my cb650 it felt like i traded in a school bus for a corvette. I’ve really enjoyed it so far and you just don’t see these around much. Sometimes it leaves me wanting a bit more power and riding 2 up feels cramped but alright for short trips. It’s very hard for me to ride mine without at least one 11,000 rpm pull! The little inline 4 really comes to life around 9,000. I ride mine pretty regularly and put around 1,000 miles on it every 2 months. I use the Honda HP4 oil and OEM filters and change it every 4000 miles. Only thing I’ve had to do is adjust the clutch free play at around 2000 miles and tighten the chain up. From the factory my left side chain adjuster wasn’t even finger tight! I checked all the other major components and found a few more that weren’t quite to spec! It’s worth a once over for the peace of mind! Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. Happy riding, stay safe.

They're amazing bikes. The only maintenance ive had to do in the 6,000 miles I've owned it so far in 10 months is oil changed, basic chain care/tension/wax and some lever free play. Brake fluid is getting changed also and all new fluids after the winter! It's an amazing bike. The power commander definitely fixed that dead spot. Now with that installed and my tuner getting it all dialed in (thank you to him again!) it is great. It pulls constantly through every rpm range, the bike just wants to be ridden in high rpms. You can't get enough of it. The dead spot definitely got fixed. I am tall, at 6'5 so mostly any bike will be cramped for me, I do find my groin/hip flexors very tense and tight after standing up after even an hour long ride. I am going to look into a Corbin seat next summer. Have heard nothing but amazing stuff from em.

Hey brotha! So I finally got my tarmac exhaust. There is a baffle! It sounds clean with it. But not really loud. You toook yours off!? So that means you can’t put it back again? Cuz there’s like 2 rivets holding the baffle?
@koofdome
@koofdome 3 жыл бұрын
Hell yeah so glad to hear you got the tarmac. It's an amazing exhaust, designed by a professional racing company that was founded on making pipes specifically FOR Honda. The guys over at TBR know what they're doing, don't let anyone tell you different. The baffle removes very easily. Around the black octagon shaped (I guess you call it octagon) exhaust tip there are I believe 5 or 6 screws. You remove those and the little black end cap comes off the exhaust. Under there you will see the baffle with its flange held on by 2 small screws. It's self explanatory at that point, just remove it real quick, pop out the baffle (it's a silver pipe above 6 inches long with a ring) and start it up! If you don't like the sound, pop it back in and put the end cap back on. Hope it makes sense. Takes 1.5 minutes!
