Thank you for this video. For those that say you can do this without disconnecting the front drive shaft and without lowering the differential, you must be working on a different truck. There is absolutely no room to pass the block through if you don’t drop the differential.I have a 2014 Silverado with 250k. I don’t have the best tools and it took me longer than planned, but I got it done..

you do have to lower the diff for clearance for the oil cooler block but you can definitely get a ratchet with an extension in there pretty easily back when i worked in a chevy dealer i used to do these all the time both 4wd and 2wd and either or didn’t require taking the front driveshaft out

Video helped alot!...for my 2018 Tahoe with 4WD i didnt have to completely remove the driveshaft. just needed to unbolt and let it hang and it left more than enought room to remove the 2 bolts from oil cooler. also i didnt full drop the front diff. i loosened both bolts and i cleared enough space to pull the line thru and reinstalled in reverse order.

I have to do this for my 2018 Silverado... Good video. I thought it was the transmission lines and ordered them. Was about to do it last night and saw it was the oil cooler lines... I just cleaned the lines and will plan to do it later this summer since I have to do way more than I thought

This was a great video that was direct and step by step. Some of the other videos the guys are all over the place. One thing, I didn’t take off the front driveshaft and was able to remove and install the block of the cooler lines with the shaft in place. Of course it would have been easier if the driveshaft was out of the way, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. You got a like and subscribe from me my friend.

@@richierock1300 I replaced the oil lines no problem, but now I don’t have power steering. I was thinking perhaps a ground clamp went on the stud for the oil line bracket but that wasn’t it. I guess I’ll check the ground straps next. Any advice?

Like you, I would really prefer not move the driveshaft or anything if I absolutely do no have to. I do not have a lift. So once you remove the bracket bolt and the oil cooler bolts, did you have any special way to remove it? Out the front or toward the rear?
@davidstepeck2644
@davidstepeck2644 Жыл бұрын
@@bandofcrazies7082 Nope, I did everything on the video except the driveshaft and used an open end wrench to remove one of the two bolts that mount the oil cooler block to the engine block. The line was a little hard going back in, just take your time and you will get it. Lastly, I just used a jack and jack stands. Good luck!

Seems a speaciality block and a set of braided lines to a different radiator would cure this issue. Thats GM! Another CF from yoour engineering dept.
