I don't think I've ever seen Shane point out something about the rack at 33:55. Something must have been really messed up for him to do that. Normally he just looks at it and decides how he needs to hit it.

It's a rule made after Corey Deuel figured out the "slow-break" for 9 ball. KZbin Corey Deuel Pattern Rack 9 ball and you will figure out why this 3 point rule is introduced

I slowed it down to 0.25 the speed and you can see the cue ball barely hit the 8 first. You would have to really pay attention as a ref lol

@@420Bill If the ref had ever played the game he would also be able to judge the foul from the movement of the three ball. Fast and 80 degree angle is not possible without the carom from another ball.

Ronnie Civella the 8 was clearly struck first at an angle. Thats why it hit the long rail. It would have had to get hit dead straight to go down to the short rail

sockpuppet i for one am not a pro, but im also not a beginner. It was pretty clear to me that the 8 ball was hit first. Especially given the way the balls reacted. Which btw, is not a bad way to look at things. On the contrary, any player with decent experience should be able to know how the balls will react. I even slowed down the video frame by frame and jt confirmed my initial thought. The 8 ball did indeed get hit first.
