@@RezaMatix modern hi-gain amps sounds best at master volume on 3, at higher volume your tone becomes overcompressed and harsh. This is metal, you do not need power tube saturation which will make your sound muddy. Also not a single tube amp is designed to work at max volume.

No disrespect to diezel amps I know they are a quality product I just find the gain structure to be not my thing. Very fizzy especially when I use my guitars with my fishmans fluence. Honeslty ive been really impressed with my buddys bogner ubershall twin jet. I really want one. But Adam jones uses Diesel and he has awesome tone so maybe I just suck lol. Great video man.
@Blackout-mm8pr4 жыл бұрын
Try a Tad 7025wa preamp tube in v1 or medium gain pickup. It will knock the gain down to a blueface level. Or a mullard in v1 while using a dod fx40b pushing the front and a mxr micro amp through the fx loop pushing power amp will really let the magic shine through. You will sound like adam jones. El34bht power tubes running a pinch hot will really make it sing sweet also. Adam really shapes his sound with the dod eq and pushing the power amp. The mxr pushing the power amp will get rid of the fizz. My vh2 which i kept over the vh4 has zero fizz. Switching to el34bht got rid of all the muddy low end and overly smoothness the kt77s were bringing and brought on the AJ tone bigtime.
@keysersoze96673 жыл бұрын
@@Blackout-mm8pr you still have the vh2?
@Hagstrom4ever2 жыл бұрын
@@Blackout-mm8pr Adam doesn't use so much gain and his sound is a mix of 3 amps. Microamp is used as a buffer, not as a boost. He runs 6L6s, i run my VH4 with 6L6 too but I love how it sounds with EL34s too. It really depends on which cab you play the amp. My Traditional is really really dark and mid forward for the VH4, Oversized cabs are a better choice, or this Uberkab which sounds fanstastic.

@@RezaMatix so does the tone change much at higher matter settings or nah?
@RezaMatix6 жыл бұрын
Zachary Drummond ALL amps sound different at higher volume. That’s the nature of amps. The trick is which ones stay tight at hold the bottom together at higher volumes. Diezel’s are Beasts in that department. They stay tight and don’t fart out. This amp can get louder than you will EVER use and stay razor sharp on the chugs. Not many amps can do that at all. It’s actually super rare.

Does it sound different because using different speakers? Obviously that plays a large part in the tone. Also new amps take a good year to meld/break in.
@RezaMatix6 жыл бұрын
Different circuit. Never had any single amp builder I know , Friedman/Diezel/Bogner/Wizard or anyone else ever tell me it takes a year to break an amp in.
@bushkey6 жыл бұрын
RezaMatix to be more clear, amps don’t need to be broken in, they just sound a little different after they have been played for approximately a year. The electronics and the transformers change a little over time. Get seasoned. And I have had all those builders tell me the same thing. I have had new amps that didn’t wow me at first and became magic after a few months or year. Depending on the use of course. I was just wondering if the New VH4 was sounding different from different variables or different circuit. Cool thanks
@RezaMatix6 жыл бұрын
the transformer magnetization will change over the life span of the amp. most amps are "burned" in and generally sound MOSTLY like they will thru their lifetimes, its true that after a considerable amount of time the transformer magnetization will have more of an effect, but Im thinking more like 10 years +! In any case, I prefer PRE 2007 on my VH4 make.
