In second grade i was made fun of because i used my index finger under words to read. My teacher eventually got fed up with the little beasts and stopped our reading session to give a 5 minute speech about why i was the best reader in the class, fastest, best comprehension, and most accurate pronunciation, due to my "crutch". Turns out my finger reading was allowing me better focus on each word, thus i took less time to mentally process and move to the next. I loved Mrs Sanders. (RIP)

I bought a 2014 Durango new. AWD SXT V6 with heated steering wheel and heated cloth seats. Most comfortable road trip vehicle I’ve ever had, and I’ve had lots. Great ride, quiet, handles well considering it’s size. 25-26 mpg highway fully loaded on flat ground, 22-23 on hills. Try finding anything else with heated steering wheel and heated cloth seats, huge benefits in NEPA winters. 185k miles, only downsides are some major repair bills (one roller lifter tick at 105k - replaced 1 whole bank of lifters; AC condenser at 125k; head gasket at 150k). The racetrack light started taking on water around 150k too, drained it out, made sure it dried good then ran silicone around entire top and sides of light, no issues since. Too bad the Hemi versions often get bought and driven by tools, they’re actually a very versatile vehicle with very durable brakes and suspension components (hold-over Mercedes-Benz engineering, same bones as 2000’s GL class).

I’ve actually heard that the 3.6 is a better engine than the 5.7 and 6.4. There’s a few out there with over 250,000 miles on them. My Dad has a 2013 Chrysler 300S AWD and I think it looks and drives great. It also drives really good in the snow. I’m sure the AWD system in the Durango and 300 are probably the same

Good news the Hemi is coming back, and Durango will stay on until 2026/2027. Also, the V8 itself isn't dead yet and also stalantis is trying out a few different V8s in Mexico to succeed the current 5.7 architecture.

I had a first gen Durango with a 5.9 and the 4 speed. I averaged 11mpg. It blows my mind that they have made such minimal improvements

The first gen had 3 rows. I had one of the first Durangos at our local Dodge dealership back in 98, I loved it. I’ve had my eye on these SRTs for the longest time. Now I need to go drive one lol

I just saw on another channel that the Durango will in fact go beyond its currently planned sunset in 2026 to 2028 so 2024 is indeed not the end of the road for the Durango!

15:29 Umm, Google says the second generation had an option of the 3.7 v6. Also, pretty positive all generations of Durango got 3rd row seating.

I own a Dodge Challenger Scat Pack with the 6-spd. The 8 spd auto is the better transmission. I've had the opportunity to drive both. For outright speed, the 8-spd keeps that 392 hemi in the power band more often. The 6-spd tremec is a compromise transmission to still provide the thrills and also maintain decent fuel mpg.

It’s the Tremec TR6060 isn’t it ? If so that’s a great transmission that will handle more torque than the old T56. The good thing is your Challenger will hold it value better than the Automatics

I was on the launch for this car. It was the same launch and event as the Demon and the Hellcat widebody. Couldn’t give less of a fuck about the widebody, but the Durango and the Demon were such delightfully dumb machines they finally broke me and made me understand the appeal for FCA machines. I love this stupid thing and the ZF isn’t THAT bad, it just as in everything for so long. I miss FCA, Stellantis feels like such a step backwards.

I have a 14 3.6 limited and I love it. 140k 10 years old and is super reliable and everything works like new. They never changed the look so everyone thinks it’s a new or newish car. Great used car if was decently taken care of

@5:37 I 100% believe that especially if you live somewhere with enough nature (or garbage) for mice to thrive. We battle field mice moving into out vehicles every winter if they sit longer than a few weeks with even the smallest crumbs of food left inside.

The big problem with them is they're quite annoying for reliability issues they have the stigma of if you drive one you are a drug dealer and that's basically the majority of the people that around me own them. And that goes for the same thing with the jeep version. Honestly if it was more reliable and it didn't have such a bad stigma. Is it would be an excellent toe rig for going to the track
