I've always wondered about the lavatory seat being certified as a passenger seat. How many people would want to spend an hour, or two, or three hours sitting in a lavatory? And if there really are such people out there, I sure wouldn't want them flying aboard my private jet!

The certified seat on bathrooms airplanes only serves or indicates the purpose of an emergency, landing or turbulence. Whenever the captain declares emergency or he light the belt sign, in case there someone on a non certified bathroom at that moment the flight attendants could go there and warn or even take the person out for safety, that last part depends on country legislations, airlines, etc. The certified bathroom seat therefore is a plus for safety, and not much else.

i own an king air with belted potty and when seating is full i go sit on the potty seat for take off and landing--everybody says "no no no" but i dont care and for the comfort of my guests no big deal---started in the oil field years ago in the muck and dirt mud---not too proud at 68 years of age,never lost the humility and will go grab one of the grand kids and put em in my lap after take off,that is the most comfortable seat on the plane hugging that child the whole way...
