I have a permanent P0073 code (AAT Sensor Circuit High Input) that my OBD reader won't let me clear, but the AC is functioning like normal again. Thanks for the part and this in depth how-to... Super helpful Edit: It is now the following morning post-install, and the check engine light / code is gone.

Worked perfect for my 2018 F150 XLT. Had the 22 pin to 8 pin adapter and installed into the 8 pin side as per the instructions. Thought I was getting a good deal on the tow mirrors I bought. Was not aware of the temp sensor in my mirror before I started all this. If I did it over would just buy the tow mirrors from these guys and not have this issue.

Got installed! I see a readout but as the video mentions, my engine light is still on and AC still blows hot. Once the auto shop clears the code, AC should work again?

This shouldn't be needed on our mirrors assuming they were ordered correctly. You might have cycled the key with the mirror unplugged and tripped a check engine light. Simply clearing the code should resolve the issue. If it doesn't give our technical support team a call at 765-831-2830

Purchased and installed. Wonder if I did it correctly because I have a check engine light and no temperature reading on my dash. My truck was originally a 8 pin and the mirrors I purchased are 22pin. They did come with the adapter for the 8 to 22pin. I installed your temperature sensor to the 22pin, is that how I am supposed to connect or should I have connected to the 8pin?

You need to install the harness into the 8 pin side of the connector so that the vehicle can sense it - unless the wires are pre-populated for temperature sensor on your mirrors. Give our support team a call at 765-831-2830 or email [e-mail] and we will get this resolved ASAP

I have a 2018 F-150,the mirrors are 8-pin. I purchased new larger mirrors for towing. These mirrors have 22-pin connectors. I then purchased adaptor harnesses to plug in the 8-pin on the truck to the new 22-pin connector on the mirrors. The turn signal on the passenger side did not work. Not sure if the temp sensor is there in the new mirror or if it works. I temporarily removed the jumper harness thinking that the harness was bad and temp the shows in the radio screen went out and the check engine light came on. On another note, on the 8-pin to 22-pin Humber harness, there is a blue wire that is not connected to the adapter (at the 22-pin side). Any direction would be helpful.

So I actually relocated the AAT sensor to the grill area like the previous year trucks (wiring harness was already there plugged into a dummy plug) and cleared the code I had. No CELs now but my a/c still isn’t working? Tried doing the reset procedure mentioned but nothing. Am I missing something?

You will need a sensor feedback from the mirror connector itself in order for the system to function properly.

Boost Auto Parts interesting..I’m following a guide my buddy did and he was able to swap to the front style AAT area with his new mirrors and has no issues with climate control stuff. So the vehicle doesn’t sense for the front, only the mirror side?

I added tow mirrors and the AC started blowing hot air and the temperature on the inside screen reads 40 degrees fluctuating as low as -26 when actually its 100 degrees outside. When it reads the right temperature tha AC works fine but when it reading a low temp, the AC blows hot air. Could this be the same issue???

It sounds like you may have a bad temperature sensor in the towing mirrors. This harness should solve it. If there are already wires in the slots shown in this video you will have to isolate and splice to them. Email [e-mail] if that comes up and they can provide further guidance.

Hi, I have a 2020 F-150 XL that I added 22-pin power fold mirrors onto (I changed the door harnesses and modules). I don't have a CEL and my a/c works fine but the radio screen shows an error where the temp should be. Will this harness fix my temps?

@@boostautoparts no. The sensor needs to be reset prior to clearing code. With key on, press a/c and recirculate simultaneously and then within 2 seconds press a/c. That will reset sensor and tell computer everything is good. Then clear PCM codes and then your good to go. Same procedure on super duty also. Pcm uses the readings for engine management also and this will trigger the ambient air sensor code first, then the nitrogen oxide exhaust code second. Engine will burn more fuel and run but not run optimally until this procedure is complete. Enjoy.
