I have 2018 Raptor and had heated drivers seat on and working, but smelled a faint burning plastic. I rolled down windows to see if smell was from outside and rolled windows back up. Next morning turned on heated seat and realized it was not heating. I checked other seats and all passenger front & rear working...cooling working in both front seats. I think the smell was a short or connector failure. Does the seat need a heating pad for bottom as shown PLUS another pad for the back? I'm a DIYer, but this looks easy to mess up on getting the back seat leather zipped up and the orange tabs back together. What are the labor hours rated by BAR for this job? Would you recommed the dealer? Thanks for any advise. The value of your video lies in the numerous steps to diagnose and successfully repair without making a misstep that damages the leather seat. Thanks again!

Thank you for the comment . The drivers seat has 2 heating pads and one not working can cause both not to work . I would say don’t mess with it because the foam and leather is way more than the pads . Labor is 2.9 . Diagnosis can be anywhere from 100 to 300 on average . They may give you a brake on price if they stock the parts and you are quick to give ok . Just my opinions . I am in Cali .

@@ocdauto8794 Thanks for the advice. Being in SoCal, I don't use the heat that often, but miss it around this time of year. I think I'll just go without. thank you again!

So dealing with this now on my 2018 Raptor. Both Driver/Passenger seat heating is no longer working. After a $200/Hr Diagnostic fee they told me that its the heating elements on both seats that failed and my Extended Warranty thru Mercury will not cover anything to do with seats in the vehicle. Was quoted $950 (Inc Parts + Labor) for the repair and would need the car for at least 2 days.... I live in Socal and its hot as hell right now so I can definitely do with the heated seats but I do go camping/overlanding in some pretty cold places (22 degrees sometimes) and definitely use the heated seats so I will wait until tax season to use my tax return to get this fixed. Such BS since the truck is only at 70k miles and already having electrical issues, Water pump leak on the cooling system, a transmission issue when shifting into reverse when the vehicle is cold and recall drama on the Cam Phasers on the motor and Tailgate latch issues. F*** this truck has all kinds of problems. Luckily my insurance did cover the Water Pump issues so I am left with a $500 Bill of which $400 is just diagnostic fees.

I just bought a 2018 f150 and the heated seat doesn’t work on the front passenger seat. Cooled works on both front seats. Heat works on driver front seat. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot or what to check?

@@ocdauto8794 I have 2017 Raptor cool and heated seats when look for cushion with part number you used it just keep saying only lariat models. Do you know if these fusions are the same it appears they are the same I find it hard to believe ford would design two different seats for same cool and heated seats.
