I just bought my first F-150 2 weeks ago its winter in Canada, the Auto start/stop is not engaging I went and ask the service department about this and they said in the cold it more then likely won't kick in as it does not want to draw power away from the alternator or battery that will be needed. was told it will be the same in the heat/ hot days of the summer. the service tech said the only time it will really work properly her in Ontario will be spring and fall...lol

I bought a 2015 v6 brand new. 2.5 years later the so called heavy duty "leather" steering wheel is worn to bits and I only use it for recreational purposes. not to mention the doors have a tough time closing and staying closed. also since day 1 the moon roof keeps screeching whenever I open or close it. not sure if that changed in the newer models but do keep that in mind when buying. also plow dealers say the v6 will electronics will screw up your truck if you put a plow on it

lol! ford markets the port fuel injection with direct injection as improving power output, when the real reason they added the port fuel injection is to clean the valves that the direct injection could not do there by improving the reliability of the engine. its well known direct injection system cokes up the valves.

It's still a nice truck, I'm a Ford person and recently bought one. But the RAM interior is in a class of it's own. The GM is recently re-designed . Gotta think Ford is going to need to tweak their interiors in the next year or two.

To put the transfer case in neutral you have to go from 2 hi to 4low 5 times within 7 seconds. Parking brake must be set. You also can go into test mode by holding the Ok button with the key in on position and then starting it while still holding it.

Those supposed off-road tires are P rated not the more favorable LT rated tires. Probably P for gas mileage rating

Long but very informative video. I just got a new 2018 4x4, extra cab,(super cab), with an 8' bed. My local dealership informed me that Ford did not make this truck with an 8' bed. As luck would have it, I got an ad from another dealership on F.B. showing this very truck with the long bed. Long story short, another dealer that was much closer had this configuration and although it doesn't have all the features I would've liked, it is pretty well equipped. In trying to take in all the information concerning different packages I am wondering if my truck was a special order. It does have the 301A equipment group with the chrome package, which I'm not a fan of the chrome...but am I to understand it's supposed to have the center console and shifter? That would be something I truly wish it did have! However I think I have a few things that may not come on a standard XLT like the power pedals, max tow package, electronic lock axles. One thing It has that I absolutely can't stand are the built in spot mirrors in the mirrors! I'd much rather have the "blind spot" mirrors, or if worse came to worse, the actual "tow mirrors"! If you could let me know regarding the center console that would be great! Thanks big time, Razor!

The 301A package will come standard with the 40/20/40 bench seat, the reason you see the bucket seats in the video is because it was added as a standalone option.

This video was recorded in November 2017, the diesels just finally hit dealerships in July. The horsepower is 250 and torque is 440 lb-ft. Towing is rated at 11,400 lbs. 25 mpg on the highway, 20 mpg city.

You are 100% correct! Trucks are all about utility, and filling up the center seat with a console makes no sense.

The floor shifter was a must for me so I guess I am in lower percentage of truck owners. I have owned both but I just prefer the floor shifter. If you don't want the floor shifter just get the STX package. I mean if you think its more of a utility truck that a luxury vehicle you wont mind not having power seats or a power back window but you will get the shifter on the steering column just like you want. Also, instead of paying 40k plus for the xlt you will be in the low 30s with the xl STX.

Gear ratios can be tricky because the tow package could come with a certain gears but another set of gears can be ordered as a stand alone option. so they may have done that on that vehicle.

I would recommend the 3.55, if you want the maximum towing, you should order the max trailer tow package which changes the rear end to 3.55. That is a good gear ratio if you do some towing but also drive it without a trailer a lot. To break it down, 3.31 if you don't tow much, 3.55 for a 50/50, and 3.73 if you primarily tow with it. I hope that helps.

Someone who doesn't need to tow anything more than 3000 pounds on a regular basis who wants to average 23 MPG and not have the ridiculous turbo issues.
