Probably the best engineered 64 I have seen. Great job to the design engineers to think outside the box and break the mold

Each of the features on their own are clever and welcome but all at once make it seem over the top. This reminds me of a pontoon partyboat more than a motoryacht.

Some interesting concepts the market will like there, walkthrough to front seating area and open air sides with bar counter being the main ones. My biggest concerns with most new designs is the seaworthiness of the thing. More and more we see larger superstructures, features and ultimately weight up high (not where you want it!), great for 'showroom appeal' but making the boat hopeless when in a moderate 1-2m swell. I've seen a few eye raising videos of new brands wallowing around offshore, completely hopelessly. I guess these day nobody gives two hoots how the boat actually performs with more emphasis on the number of leds inserted in the stairwell taking priority over the ability not to roll over and sink.....

When have modern 40ft-70ft flybridges ever sunk? I don't see more weight up )(than normal in flybriges) - if anything, modern ones tend to have less weight up due to lighter materials. They might be uncomfortable for the crew in 2m waves, but they always were - these planning cruisers are supposed to stay in the marina, or go back to it, when wave height is above 1.5m or so - not due to safety, but comfort. Again, if anything, modern ones are more comfortable because of the gyro and fin stabilizers. One of the reasons these boats tend to be supersafe is exactly because they become uncomfortable to the crew well before the boat is even remotely unsafe.

HO sure, but it depends on where the boat is sold. For example, Dubai - floating gin palaces no problems. West Coast US North Pacific, choppy as shit. Australia East Coast - swell heaven. Sure, Harbour’s are all well and good but again I’d prefer seaworthiness over plastic fantastic tubs. Check out Sweden’s Delta 88 for what I’m on about. And any sailer worth their salt has experienced swells and big seas at least once in their life. It’s a shame that modern reviews rarely feature performance stats on this.

I doubt Galeon plans to sell many of these in the PNW or Australia; just like Riviera won't sell any in France or Italy. A planning 64ft flybridge is a boat to enjoy coastal cruising, entertain and go fast. Criticizing her for being uncomfortable in big seas is like criticizing a Maserati for being terrible in mud and rough terrain compared to a Land Rover. If you want to go off-road, then look at Land Rovers, not Maseratis. If you want off-shore passages where you can't just run away from gales, then look at displacement boats or big super yachts. And you're "about" a 26 metres carbon €8 million euros yacht? Well, no s****. I'm about the Custom Line Navetta 33 by Ferretti - now I just need the €8 million to buy it! Including performance in high seas for yachts like this would be gimmicky at best. Reviews should focus on the boat's intended use, on how prospective owners will use her; not in pleasing dreamers and curious who will never buy her.

So to summerise your points: Modern boats don't sink (wrong), Galeon's are unsaleable West Coast USA and Australia or any other similiarly choppy waters (I'm sure they'd love to hear that!), Riviera don't sell internationally (wrong), Buyers aren't interested in seaworthiness or capability of a 40ft to 70ft boat (wrong), and wave heights above 1.5m are considered rough (sigh...wrong) ........ You sir, are an idiot!

Wait what? The staff are EXPECTED TO SLEEP 3 to a teensy space? On thin mattresses, on top of the washer and dryer? They serve your food, clean your dirty ginch and take responsibility of a multi million dollar boat and they have to sleep atop of appliances? This is unacceptable..,

What's with all these loonies on sportcruisers walkaround videos shrieking about the crew cabin? Is this a meme or something? I swear there's one in every video. If it's unacceptable to you, then put the crew in the master and vip cabins and you take theirs? I bet they won't complain.
@alexarcano5 жыл бұрын
Tbh most yachts of this size will probably be owner operated, maybe with just a skipper + one other crew, having 3 crew is just not needed. You can probably configure it as storage or for other uses, but it's shown like this for the boat show just to say it can accommodate 3 crew, if needed.
