Great videos, very valuable feedback on performance and practicality , thanks indeed. I like the 455, very popular boat Personally for family use, I like those closed transoms, like Dufour or Beneteau Sense.

Thanks Fred, yes I have been very impressed with the yacht. I agree with the closed transoms for family. I love being able to fold it out though when we are at dock or anchor. For the family we have coming along this season with a young one we have chartered the 2017 Hanse 505. With the closed in feel of the retractable transom it creates good space for young ones to be safe in and then of course nice and open for swimming etc. We have not sailed the Dufour yet, though I have heard good things. I think we are reviewing a Sense model later in the year, so keep an eye out!

@@45DegreesSailing One thing that kinda bothers me is that the 455 and 458 seem to not have a traveller system, not even with performance packages.How does this affect the boat?And can the closed compartments which the lines run under through be opened quickly in case a line snaps?Other than that it seems to be a very nice boat
@45DegreesSailing4 жыл бұрын
@@leftvassis yes I understand the frustration of not having a traveller! In a racing sense I only missed it in light winds. And as far as I know there is no option to add one. The covers on the lines are accessible. Though it would be a 10minute job to undo the screw to remove it. However I have re threaded one very quickly by shadowing another line. Taping it and running it through was very easy as the space is generous.

Is the bent bowsprit a problem when anchoring?
@45DegreesSailing4 жыл бұрын
No it still operated fine. Was just a little twisted. Needs a bobstay

Is this the kind of yacht you use for your charter trips?
@45DegreesSailing4 жыл бұрын
Yes it is. We have run a number of trips on this model. The 455 is smaller than our standard yacht. We usually sail the 508-588 range. We have
