That’s a nice tool man. Pretty simple that you can just add remote start into it like that.

That’s insane value really. I think I’m about to grab me one.
@advancedleveldiagnostics21 күн бұрын
I agree, it also comes with some eeprom stuff.

My xtool D7W also does all keys lost and add keys. Great value.
@advancedleveldiagnostics21 күн бұрын
Cool! Even on late model Fords and Toyotas?
@Justntoys21 күн бұрын
@advancedleveldiagnostics I've done mainly Toyotas and GM, but I would think it would do Ford too.

nice tool

It looks exactly like my xtool D8 .. It didn't originally come with topology, but they added it in an update about a year later. Mine was 3 years free updates. It has been a great tool for me. It was over 700 at the time.. but I've made enough keys with it to already pay for itself. I've seen the D8 under 500 sometimes now.. I'm not sure what is the difference between yours (x100 pad3) and my D8. I wish they were better at explaining the differences on their sit3. The tablet shape and size look exactly the same, but the software does look a little different, with all the blue themeing-- Mine didn't come with any of the older adapters though... It's just the standard OBDII.. (wired). I like that it's wired though, because it always keeps the battery charged. I have a 10ft extension if I need to pull the scanner around the car somewhere; under the hood, etc.. The D8 can also use that key tool -- it just didn't come with it.

Can you make a video about the pros and cons of each scan tool you have? It’s hard to decide when starting out….

Does the vehicle have remote start capabilities from the factory and then you have to program the remote key to activate the start?
@advancedleveldiagnostics21 күн бұрын
Yes they just don't give you a key with remote start unless you pay for the upgrade.
@djosbun21 күн бұрын
@@advancedleveldiagnosticsI wonder if Toyota is the same? I have a friend that asked me to install a remote start in her RAV4. I didn’t want to alter the harness to add an aftermarket unit.
@advancedleveldiagnostics21 күн бұрын
Rav 4 would not work, its mainly Honda. Some newer Nissans also work. Chrysler you can activate with a tool like alfa obd but you would also have to put a resister in place of a hood switch.
@calholli21 күн бұрын
@@djosbun I don't understand the appeal of it. My Acura came with some aftermarket remote start and starting having wiring issues.. and I only noticed it was in there while I was troubleshooting.. I tore all that stuff out of there and now it looks very clean under the dash and I have no more wire gremlins.. It's not for me; even if it was factory-- I don't want it. it's just more things to break.

Do you have your nastf creds?
@advancedleveldiagnostics21 күн бұрын
Yes, I used them for the first time two days ago, to program a bcm on a 2020 Ford F150.
@philh923821 күн бұрын
I have mine but haven’t used it yet on a ford. When you go in fdrs does it ask for your nastf id then the authy code? I’m going to be doing an abs module on a 21 transit connect on Monday. Not sure if it’ll be needed but I know some newer fords some how the abs is involved in the pats

@@philh9238 I was using FDRS and it only asked for my credentials when I had to do the parameter reset.

I may not need it for that particular job. Looking in all data all it said was pmi it. So we will see in a couple days
@HollyArms121 күн бұрын
Would you recommend this over the im608?
@advancedleveldiagnostics21 күн бұрын
Hard to say for sure as I didn't have this for long enough. The key tool itself I would say is better then the 608, It looks like this is similar to the Auto pro pad which I like better them the Im608. This tool is also a lot cheaper and can do Toyota all keys lost and probably will not join nastf scantool validation program. The only advantage I think the autel will have is the diagnostics side of the tool. This has topology but I'm not a major fan of the live data in the xtool.

@@advancedleveldiagnostics We have had a NASTF account almost since the beginning. Never ever had an issue with them. One of my guys does side work and has his own account. He hands his own cards out obviously not to my customers. He's been with me 20 years. The guy is solid. He gave a card to someone. That someone met some random guy who lost his keys. I think it was a GM. The card holder called my guy for the guy with the lost keys. He gets there everything checks out. DL matches the reg all good. Sends in for the key code makes and programs the key everyone's happy. NASTF does random audits. We aren't sure what happened but either my guy put the customers phone number in wrong, the customer gave him the wrong number or the phone was disconnected after we did the work. NASTF tried to make contact with the guy and because the number was bad not the reg or DL his account was at first suspended. He appealed it and they terminated it just like that. Scumbag move on their part. We have a new rule. If the customer doesn't have a working phone we and we need to use NASTF we are turning the job down.

400 bucks a year for the update?! And now my Matco Max 4 is charging like 1200 for an update, absolutely ridiculous. There’s way too many good scanners on the market right now for me to update another year when I can just buy a brand new scanner for cheaper with 2 years update
