Nope! They work on the vehicle, drive it through the wash, and park it for customer pick up.

Ok, so usually soft touch washes do not scratch, but I’m convinced that this old crappy machine can do some damage. Newer Soft Touch washes don’t scratch but older ones can.

Newer soft touch washes do in fact scratch and swirl the clear coat. Never ever use an automatic car wash if you want to keep your paint in show room condition

Mike Gloria that is NOT true. They use closed cell foam which doesn’t hold dirt or any other harmful particles. It’s also rinsed with every rotation. Please check your facts before you comment.

Can’t say I’m not guilty of taking mine thru. Here’s the thing, for 90% of the public this is perfect.. it does exactly what they want; gets the dirt off

Which is understandable. Even though the majority may or may not be aware of the cons, they still use it normally. Like fast food, smoking, drinking, etc. I would just rather wash it myself for a deeper, thorough clean and preserving even just a little bit of value in the car.

*My dad* It was ruined the first time he washed it himself.. in direct sun.. HOT.. dirty washcloths used to clean.. air dried.. It hurt so much to watch it happen.

Xixu The dirt gets on the brushes and cloth, however that's rinsed with all movement and rotation.

BadDrivers PA IT DOESN'T MAKE SWIRLS. The brushes DO NOT go in a swirling pattern. Those swirls are MOST DEFINITELY from hand washing.
