These Honda 1.5T engines are notorious for head gaskets. It’s not “if” but “when”. Coolant loss is the number one symptom and sometimes misfires.

@@LUISCORONA-xs8zl Use 91 or better octane gas. Pre-ignition (knock) from 87 causes high cylinder pressure which can stretch the L15s weak head studs and cause the head gasket to leak between the cylinders. It’s inherently a bad design but you can decrease the likelihood of it happening. Keep an eye on your coolant level as well.

@@CrystalBlackPearl2.0T The 2.0T eats the coolant level too. I have one with 50k and I noticed the coolant level was low when I did an oil change. The mechanic told me to use half distilled water with coolant.

With overheating, I'd be curious to know if the fan is working. But, since you found low coolant, I guess that is enough diagnostic.

Yeah, I drove it for three days. It never overheated and it has Dye in it case it happens again.

First problem: youre putting yellow coolant in a Honda. You’re supposed to be using Honda blue coolant only🤦🏻‍♂️

My reservoir was low in coolant and the dealer ship where I got it at they added just water 🤦‍♂️ so my temperature went up and when I started to drive it went down to barman after I turned my heater on

If your coolant reservoir is low again, tell them you want them to check for a blown head gasket and ask them if it has a recall

I believe it is on the backside of the engine very close to the timing cover and oil pan

Honda told me my cylinder 2-3 are misfiring. My accord 1.5t 2018 overheated one time, no leaks found. When I accelerate over 2-3 RPM it misfires and jerks the car and loses speed. But when I’m in sport mode it won’t do that. Honda is saying they need 3k just to open the engine to see if it’s the gasket. Any easier ways to check ? I paid 150 to Honda for them to tell me to spend 3k to find out what’s wrong -_-

It came back a month later and I found a bad head gasket .take a pressure tester and put on the vehicle at 20 pounds for five hours and then pull your spark plugs out and put it inspection camera down in each cylinder and look for coolant check out the short video, thanks for watching

Does it leak when the ac is on and parked for about an hour mine has a smal puddle when I use my ac

When you have your AC on, it will drip water which is condensation from the evaporator core and when you see it leaking with the AC on touch it and see if it is water. If so, this is normal.

@@idontknowkat6613 the only symptom on this one was low coolant, and every once in a while after you drove it a while, and then a cold soak it would misfire just for a second on start up, it never overheated. It was in a couple times. Maybe the first time was for overheating. Sorry it has been a minute. And it would set a random misfire code, and then the traction and other lights would come on.

My Coolant too goes low after 5 days and there is no leak i dont know maybe its the head gasket ?

Very possible what year and how many miles just wondering if it’s still under warranty. if there is truly no leak and that’s about the only thing it can be if you have a inspection, camera and a pressure tester, you can put the pressure tester on the radiator and pull the spark plugs. Let it sit about five hours and look down in the spark plug holes to see if there’s coolant.

@@kayade8368 the sound of water is air in the coolant system going through the heater core, which means low, coolant and air in the system, which can be caused from a head gasket issue

You should have it diagnosed to be sure if it is the head gasket, but yes, it can be the head gasket and still not overheat as long as you have coolant in there
