Zero need to use a torque wrench when putting the oil filter back on Hondas. Hand tighten to a snug fit is good enough. I've seen dealership entry level techs tighten the crap out of oil filters and it's a pain to remove them during the next oil change.

4.6 quarts without changing the oil filter. 5.1 quarts with replacing oil filter. Just a heads up

You could use a Stahlbus Oil Drain Valve Plug or a fumoto drain plug then you’d never have to remove the splash guard

I've Ran a fumoto previously and had it leak. When the drain valves work they are great when they fail it can be catastrophic.

Where did you get 18ft lb for your oil filter? The filter actually states 10-14nm. 14nm = 10ft lb

Should be 9 ftlbs. My bad if I said 18 for the filter no way it will torque to that the filter wrench will likely slip.

@@JustaHondaAccord I think you may have mentioned this in the video, but when I screw in the new oil filter, once the gasket has made contact with the engine block, then I tighten it another 3/4 of a turn. That way I don’t over-tighten it and I don’t have to mess with a torque wrench. Thx.

I was thinking that myself while watching the video. No need for torque wrench or wrench at all on the oil filter. Oil filters on any car should only be tightened to 3/4 turn after gasket contact. Hand tighten when putting on and it will come off by hand next oil change. Biggest mistake dealerships make is over tightening oil filters.

@@m626driver4 only exception is for high reving engines. It has been known on S2000 at least that if handtighten you'll lose your oil filter from the vibrations and then you end up losing your engine. There is no way to tighten to SPEC by hand on the s2000 without oil filter wrench

I just did my oil change today accord 2018 LX I had mobile one filter and mobile one advanced fuel economy OW20 in my car... my oil life was 40%, with only 3100 miles driven since the last oil change but the oil came out black ???????

Oil is almost always going to be black after a 1000 miles of use. No worries about it.

i thought it was 5.1 quarts with oil filter replace?? but usually i put a 5 quarts mobile one oil with it.. and a mobile one oil filter..

hey dude, what are the part numbers for the screw bolts on splash shield? i stripped them on my last oil change as they got rusted and metal is really soft. also apparently you have to use JIS screwdriver and not phillips head. I haven't figured out how to remove the stripped screws yet but will need to replace them when i do. any tips you got would be majorly helpful

On my touring have not felt the ride was harsh. Harsh is totally subjective though. If oem suspension is too harsh going to coilovers and running on softest setting would likely be your only option to try and soften it up.
