Missed an important point: designers tried to avoid plastics to give the bike a more premium and decent feeling. I am sure many people find this relevant. Good to see Adam back in motorcycle reviewing after motorcycle USA and his own riders domain.

I really like the look of this bike and the direction Honda went with this. I’m an older guy (46) and appreciate the round headlight and simpler styling of old without it actually looking like an old bike. Dream bike though is MV Augusta RVS #1 or Similar Dragster and Brutale. Just would never buy those due to initial cost and maintenance so appreciate when Japan can get close in styling!

An absolutely stunning piece of machinery, engineering, and finish. Since my gf bought a Honda CB500F, I have been to a few Honda showrooms, and have been very impressed with the quality of the range. If I was not already married to my XSR900, I would definitely be wooing this bike.

(and she doesn't know anything about motorcycles) especially the plastics :/ the button for the indicators is like from a toy motorcycle for kids :/ the only thing the tracer has is that engine everything else is nehhhhh ride both bikes and you will see :)

its an atrocious looking exhaust as are 99% of all stock exhausts on motorcycles that are stock. its usually done along with integrated tail lights and a big reason for it is to be able to focus on the actual bike instead of all the huge ugly crap that truly doesnt belong. you must be a real butthurt oldman to take a shot about something like that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Studied this bike for a year and had to have one. No, it's not the baddest bike on the block, but it's the prettiest. 145 HP is plenty if you don't spend time at the track. Besides the best looks, it's got plenty of torque in any gear. Even in 6th gear at 25 mph, smooth & strong acceleration. Got a choice of power options, but in Standard mode it's plenty fast. I absolutely love this bike, even after owning a VFR1200F. 467 pounds is more fun than 600 pounds, and the CB will hang with the VFR up to 80 MPH.

I believe the engine in this bike is based on the 2006/2007 CBR1000RR engine and not the 2008-2016. An easy way to tell is the fact that this bike has an oil level sight window. The 2008+ doesn't have that and went with a dipstick instead.

Excellent choice. I own several Hondas, although my newest/DD is a 1290 SAR which I am quite happy with. If I had been looking at a super-naked instead of a travel enduro when I bought I would have picked this over the Super Duke 1290, and I absolutely adore the motor in the 1290. My perspective, coming from being a tech in the retail end and a rider since the late '50s, is that the styling of the machines has evolved into them looking like escapees from a 'Transformer' movie set. Some of them look impressive curbside and new but are lacking a feeling that the looks will endure with all that black out finishing they've adopted. It comes off as appearing gimmicky and transient to me.
