I used to own a Nissan x-trail, 2004 model. i used it for 12 years until I replaced it with Ford Everest 3.2. Nissan's Aircon is the best.

Build quality, mechanics and paint job on Honda CRVs are definately superior. XTrail has slightly more boot space but CRV uses space fantastically. Rear view cameras on Nissans can be intermittent and suffer from flicker. Nissan tech is average. SatNav wise.. all cars are fairly crap..so, go buy a decent 6+ inch garmin SatNav and keep it updated.. leave the interior screen for radio etc.

The Honda engine in this vehicle has a known fault of oil-dilution from petrol entering the engine. There is an ongoing class action law suit against Honda for it. The Nissan engine will give less mechanical problems being of a more conventional design. Both cars are nice family runabouts.

Michael Aleksovski X Trail is just the one up, it looks similar, but is bigger. It is called the Rogue in the US. The Qashqai is called the Rogue sport in the states, but Quashqai in Canada, which is odd!
