Hey Michael, you're the only guy on the internet with those front shocks on a bobber. Can you share your impressions on them? I'm thinking if I should just upgrade the front springs or go for the shocks and springs set up like yours.
@vinnymacpr4 жыл бұрын
I bought progressive springs, but realized they don’t fit newer scout models. I chatted with another guy online who still ended up using those springs, but had to take about an inch off to make work. I didn’t trust myself with that, and figured chopping down the spring defeated the purpose of upgrading them in the first place. Compared to stock, these springs are night and day. The bike doesn’t jerk when switching gears anymore, and I don’t have to brace myself when hitting a bump. To be fair, I did also upgrade my rear shocks as well, so the ride is smoother overall. If you find the suspension unbearable like I did, and can afford the upgrade, I would recommend it!
@cbformula4 жыл бұрын
@@vinnymacpr Thanks man I was about to go with the progressive springs up front. I have a 2019 and the springs were technically for 2018 and before. However I know A guy who installed them without any modifications/cutting, he said just did not use the spacers. Im torn between going with the progressives or upgrading to AXEO. Its about $200 for me to install them so I dont want to pay that twice if Im unhappy with the progressives. I defintely brace every bump I see here in NYC's horrible roads.

Hi, what differences did the Legend inserts and progressive shocks make? Higher same lower? What length of rear shocks are they? Are they 444’s from progressive? Great video. I’m buying a 2019 in a few days.
@vinnymacpr2 жыл бұрын
11 inch progressive 444. Raises the bike slightly higher, but worth the trade off for comfort. Both make for a much more supple ride than stock. Legend helps to smoothen the ride fatigue on the arms, and takes t away the jerk when shifting. The potholes and bumps are way better on my back now, not sure how much is due to front vs rear shocks after the swap. But the combo has been great.

@@mikewilson691983 I love the bags themselves- the look, the feel, the quality... all what I was looking for. I can’t praise them enough on that part. However, being totally honest, because these don’t have a mount specific to Indian or Harley, they need to be positioned JUST RIGHT so not to touch the pipes, or rub the tires or brake disks. It was tedious for me to find that sweet spot, and might be a headache most would want to avoid if they are not confident on the fit. In the end, the pros outweighed the con for me. I hope that helps

@vinnymacpr4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chase, The front did sort of lip up a little bit, which bothered the OCD part of my brain when I looked at it while off the bike. But I guess after riding on it for some time, the fit eventually became more snug to the frame. I realized it just yesterday when put the seat back on after I replaced the battery. Sort of annoying after spending so much on the custom seat, but it should flatten out after putting some good mileage in.

@vinnymacpr3 жыл бұрын
1) the 7” had to be installed with forks mounts. It’s too big to use the bottom mount without the back of the light conflicting with the frame of the bike. No problems at all- the light is perfectly snug with the fork mounts I have. 2) all of the wires are tucked into the housing. I took off the velcro wrap that they were packed in. Tedious, but doable.

Thanks brutha. Regarding the seat, I love it. It’s firmer than the stock seat, but it has a larger surface area and cups your body. It took some breaking in, but now it’s super comfortable. I don’t even think about the seat anymore, because it feels so natural when I’m riding. The longest I’ve ridden in one session was about 2.5/3 hours with it. I don’t feel like I’m sliding off the back anymore when I’m on the highway, and my lower back feels way better (although the upgraded shocks helped with that too). I hope I answered your question.

@vinnymacpr4 жыл бұрын
You would need to unplug the stock lights, cut them off the stock wires, keeping the plug side. Splice the wires of the new lights onto it, plug back in. That back lights are a little more complicated than the front, as you would need to incorporate a converter. See this link, I learned from JayFast’s post. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2PJeJdtib-sbKM

PACO RIZOS www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/namz-led-turn-signal-intensifier-converter. Check this out. This is what you’ll need for the brake lights. You won’t need the for the front. These will allow your lights to stay on in the back, and get brighter when you hit the brake or signal. I should say that I have never done electrical work or anything with wires in my life before installing the lights. As long as you follow the steps as outlined in the video, you’ll be fine. I actually had to replace one of the leds this week because it died, and it was even easier the second time around.

Can you make a special video to introduce your sissy bar? Take off the bag, good job bro
@vinnymacpr4 жыл бұрын
王angel I might pick up the Roland Sands mid controls. If I do, I’ll make a video update to show the new upgrade will include the sissy bar more closely

@@vinnymacpr Hey my friend about the sissy bar and the insert And passanger back rest. Could you please give me the exactly messurements? Please The insert is 5" right? The color of the back rest? How heigth is the sissy bar? Thank you
@vinnymacpr4 жыл бұрын
@@cesarpolania1067 The sissy bar is 13”, dream catcher insert is 8”, the back rest pad is a little over 5”. The pad is black with silver stitching, and I don’t remember which coat of black I ordered for the sissy bar- I want to say satin.
@vinnymacpr4 жыл бұрын
Also, I ordered those sizes so that it doesn’t interfere with the passenger portion of the saddle seat. I called and worked it out in 5 min with the rep over the phone- I would recommend calling if you have a passenger seat for sure.

Does the bars touch the tank now since u went drag?
@vinnymacpr4 жыл бұрын
No. I made sure to position the mirrors, switch housings, and rokform mounts to clear the tank with the bar fully locked in the left/right positions. Also, this drag bar was made specifically for the scout/bobber to ensure a perfect fit.

@@vinnymacpr thanks bro. I think im gonna get the same set up. Seat, drag bar and sissy bar. I always wanted to see what the sissy bar would look like with drag bars. U git an IG or Facebook so I can see more pictures?

I don't understand the fat wheel in the front, why?
@vinnymacpr4 жыл бұрын
The tire in this vid is stock, in the newer video I show the new tires I had installed- but I kept the same size. The wider tire on this bike serves a couple functions; 1) it adds to the aggressive look of the bike, 2) it’s more stable and absorbs better on rougher roads, also gets more traction. For how torquey this bike is, I prefer it- I think it gives it a more balanced look too.

How much did you pay for it?

Did you use any saddlebag brackets ??
@vinnymacpr3 жыл бұрын
No brackets, just straps. In my last video where I talk about my saddle swap, you can see the fender straps more visibly. The bags also have a strap/buckle in the back on the bottom to anchor it, and they also come with ties if you need further anchoring. I never used those.

@@vinnymacpr sweet, so to be sure, they will fit on my indian scout bobber twenty?
@vinnymacpr3 жыл бұрын
@@sirsaltytampon4379 I believe the specs are identical, so the bigger bag on the left, yes for sure. The right bag is a bit trickier because you have to avoid the brake disk, AND pipes. So if you have slimmer exhaust slip-ons like mine (stock pipes won’t work with it) and you mount it just right to also avoid the brake disk, then yes. But even then, the placement would have to be very particular.

How uncomfortable is the ride for passengers?
@vinnymacpr4 жыл бұрын
I ordered a backrest pad from Ginz that should help provide back support, but the seat itself isn’t really meant for long trips for passengers. I have an air cushion coming to help on those rare occasions.
