I'm from Brazil and my daughter is studying near Lake Placid (in Keene Valley). I was there last November and this video inspired me to start preparing to plan doing this race in 2020. If God allows me, I will be there. Wait for me, Lake Placid.

Are you going in 2021?
@Fabio-Correr-eh-Viver3 жыл бұрын
@@martinrose9794 I would like to go in 2021, but it will not be possible. Here in Brazil the vacine is a bit slow to take and now I'm planning to do IMLP in 2028 for the 30th anniversary ;)

Excellent video! Good that it concentrates on the Age Groupers, not just the professionals. Also good that you got rid of that voice-over from the Texas event :-)

Where is the highlights-only cut? This seems to be the dancing volunteer/inspiration version.

I have an idea for the Kona one! What if you can also use water balloons with your water cup

Question- are the races back to back? Like, do you get a potty break? Do you eat along the way?
@ryanbrizzolara53766 жыл бұрын
TL;DR: Yes they are back to back. No, you don't get breaks. Yes, but you have to carry any food you want with you; however, there are aid stations along the route if you need water, or a small snack. Long Version: Yes, each discipline is consecutive. From the moment the swim starts, even your transitions from swim to bike, and bike to run are timed. In triathlon, you have your overall time, each specific discipline time, and your transition times. For example, in a lower distance race, your swim time might be 30 Minutes, your first transition (AKA T1) time could be 5 minutes, your bike 2 hours, your second transition (AKA T2) 2 minutes, and your run time 45 minutes. each of those times added up would give you an over all time of 3:23:00.0 (3 hours, 23 minutes if I did my math right.) If you took a potty break during any one of those segments, the clock would continue running, and contribute to your over all time accordingly. Most, if not all, athletes carry food and drinks with them on the bike, and keep extra snacks in their bag to pick up for the run. There are almost always aid stations, where you can pick up food and water along the way, as well as potty stations at various points throughout the course, if the need arises. I hope that answers your question!
