Jeffrey Cunningham It was just a guess, but since Amusements of America (who owned the KMG Fireball) supplied the Crazy Mouse, I was thinking perhaps the IX Indoor Amusement Park may have wanted to go with someone else. Either that or AoA was asking too much... 😀

From what I gather the Ferris wheel will be installed at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH. They just installed the Soaring Eagle zip line from the IX Center there and named it “Forward Pass”. I miss the Indoor Amusement Park. It was a fun way to celebrate the end of winter and a unique place to enjoy some carnival rides.

Hi Alexis. There are two entrances at the IX Center, but they usually only use the main one at the rear of the building for this event. You can get your hand stamped though to head out and return later...😀

Kristina Thomas At that age, It’s hard to say if they would like it. The marketing seems to target the pre-teen crowd, but it’s really a tough call as some kids seem to love it and others think “it sucks”. If you have taken your kids to the local carnival/fair and they liked the rides there, then this would be perfect. Otherwise, wait till May 11th when Cedar Point opens. 😀

The spider was actually built by Battech. That one to my knowledge is the first of the new remastered “trailer mounted” (on trailer but floated Center like a ground mount) spiders to be built last year, and last I knew it was owned by Skinner’s Amusements.

Interesting to know that Battech built the Black Widow. I had no idea they brought the ride back, and that news is 2 years old already! Thanks for sharing. I do know that the one at the IXIAP was owned by Poor Jack Amusements as the signage reflected that. The ride also is listed on Poor Jack's website with a picture of the ride.

That’s news to me that Poor Jack got one. Maybe it’s the 3rd one built? Battech always had the rights to the Hrubetz rides and then of course Dartron. But a little piece of the history is that Frank Hrubetz before starting his company was originally a designer and engineer for the Eyerly company. So for years Eyerly and Hrubetz were direct competitors. But then Hrubetz became part of Dartron, now Battech, and they bought the Eyerly rights in either late 2015 or early 2016. And the Spider isn’t the only ride they plan to bring back, I know I’ve heard talk about the Loop-O-Plane coming back, Bulgy the Whale, and Midge-O-Racer. If I had to pick one Eyerly ride that Battech should bring back, it would be the Fly-O-Plane. That’s a rare ride now that used to be so common and I’d like to see it come back.

A Chance Rides Gondola Wheel is 108 feet tall (taken from their website). Since the ride is perched on a platform and rises through the roof in a glass dome, I'd still wager that 80 feet or so sounds about right for the ceiling height. :)

The Loop-O-Plane is essentially the original Ranger/Kamikaze/Skymaster ride. 2 people sit in one of the 4 caged compartments, a safety bar and seatbelt are the restraints, and then the pods rock back and forth until they go all the way over. Usually you'll switch directions halfway through. That's really about it!

Unfortunately, the IX Center was renovated recently to break the space up into 4 or so different areas. The Giant Wheel was ripped out and sold to the NFL Hall of Fame where it now operates as The Red Zone, and I doubt the new setup would be able to support an indoor carnival/amusement park. I still think Cleveland could support a smaller amusement park, and an indoor one would do wonders with the seemingly endless winters we endure. But hey, that’s just my opinion. Thanks for watching!

This place gets smaller and less exciting each year.. no wonder there’s no crowds. They don’t bring back any of the good rides, three to five years ago this place was packed shoulder to shoulder with people and twice as many thrill rides.... soon enough there won’t be any more IX indoor amusement park due to lack of attendance :(

Grayson Warner Not sure if you were there back in the mid 90’s, but those were some good times at the IXIAP. The entire floor was used for the midway, they brought in two Chance Century Wheels to flank the main IX Ferris Wheel, rides like a Chance SkyDiver, Tivoli Force 10, Pinfari Looping Star, Soriani and Moser Top Spin, Chance Falling Star and Larson Crazy Train graced the aisles, and they even had a 10-in-1 sideshow and other silly things like the world’s smallest horse. It is sad to see how the event has gotten smaller over the years...

Totally agree. Loop-O-Planes have been around since the 50's. I wish the IXIAP would consider booking in some truly "new" rides rather than bringing in decades-old attractions and billing them as new. But hey, that's just my opinion!

This is kind of the same with my local fair. My parents remember that place having way more rides, but now, it has gotten smaller. One of the adult rides there (The Kamikaze) was absent from there when I went there last year. I heard they are taking away the Zipper too this year. But I did see one new ride there which was the Hurricane, so that was pretty cool. I still enjoy going there though, I just wish they would bring some more rides to make the place a bit more interesting.

Yeah, I have only seen this ride at the IXIAP. Bates Brothers Amusements has a partial owenership (I believe) with A.R.M. and that's why they tour with several of their rides. Honestly, I don't know what the point is of the G-Force. Is it a roller coaster? Is it a drop ride? It's actually rather uncomfortable to ride...

Just getting back to my channel after a long absence and I got a kick out of this comment. If you thought last year's was a joke, wait until this year. From what the website says, several of the rides from last year will not be there (Alien Abduction, Black Widow, Ali Baba, Loop-O-Plane, etc) and in their place will be a Flying Bobs, Kamikaze and maybe the return of the Frenzy.
