2018 Jeep Cherokee Bass Install Db Drive 2k 12's and Db drive WDX 2000.1 Amp

In a brand new 2018 jeep cherokee we installed 2 db drive wdx 2ks running of a db drive wdx 2000.1 amplifier. We used a db link ofc amp kit to get the best power to our amp. With it having a factory uconnect system we had to use a line converter to get our signal for our rca's! turned out nice and sounded very clean!

Bro, please do not put that amp down there. It will overheat for sure, also the amount of money you just spent on that system. You're losing a lot of quality sound/bass using that line converter. Definitely spend the money on a digital processor. Im not knocking your skills, just want to help a brother bass head out!

Like the videos you have posted but having and amp where you have it is going to have a overheating issue with no air flow to disperse the heat.

definitely would’ve liked to see more specifics when it comes to the wiring. you only showed one set of speaker wires when connecting the LOC. what did you do for the right speaker? what did you connect to for chassis ground?

Joe Palmer the ground was in the back by the amp lifted the carpet sanded a spot down and bolted ground down and I only used the left front Speaker for signal

SullivanDesigns thanks! but i was more talking about the ground for the LOC from the wire harness. mine doesn’t have enough wire to run to the grounding point for the amp. sorry to ask so many questions. i’ve just been working on this amp for about 4 hours now and want to finish so i can sleep 😆💀

Joe Palmer I didn’t need to ground this loc but if you need to on yours the best bet would be extending the ground wire a few feet so you can run it down behind the kick panel and same thing sand the paint off the metal and you can self tap it so it’ll be all nice and hidden once the panels are back on

With a 2 12 inch setup. Other then a amp, what else would i need for this setup? Would i have to get an extra battery, capacitor, hi power alternator?? Trying to go simple. Was gonna go with the speed series till i saw these.

Nobody’s used a capacitor since 1999 depending on how much your amp is pulling a second battery will do fine

Anything less than 1000 watts most likely you won't be a extra battery or alternator but I would install it first and do the big 3 and if your headlights dim after that and if your worried about it then maybe an alternator

Have the exact same system in 08 dodge ram. Mine is bridged. Have a bigger alt and big 4 and another battery. Still killed the lights. Got to go led headlights. That was only fix. And still dims brake lights which are not led. That 2k amp a lot more power than people think. Amp been overheating so got fans underneath it and it's out in the open.

Yes. I have a 2019 jeep cherokee. U 100% need a line out converter. I'm using a jl audio line out converter. Audiocontrol makes amazing line out converters also. Mine is spliced in behind deck

You can get a high to low, audio output converter. Which connects to the regular, high output speaker wires that come from the radio. Then converts it to a low output. Where you can plug your RCA cables to. * For a bass only Amplifier. You can connect the converter's both left and right channels together. to the same speaker output wires, (either left or right only) and still have great sound. While providing a left and right RCA sound input for the Amplifier.

The G1 is superior. They are 1k rms. The 12" is around $210-215. The 15" is around $255-260. I just bought a Wolfram HG-12 to run on a WDX3K amp. Can't wait to finish install.

subs sound best with more air to move around, so face them outward with the back against the back seat. Has always sounded good for me anyhow

Speed series amps were chinese and overrated. The G1 & G2 subs are pretty good, along w/ Euphoria line. The WDX2K & WDX3K amps are a decent value some places.

Tapping into left door speaker for line converter?? So if you adjust the Ballance you affecting the subwoofers signa plus hacking up the harness...yeah not good, in a vehical that new I would have tapped into it behind head unit and tuck it in there there may even be a piggyback adapter for that unit? That stuff isn't expensive... Also that sure looks like CCA power cable, 2 or 4G OFC welder lead is not that expensive maby $45 to 50 for 25'. No it's not $20 for 20' like CCA but CCA is garbage... That's a long run for small CCA. But whatever as long as everyone's happy.

Root means squared = rms Rms is a continuous power rating of amplifiers. Peak is the most an amp can produce in a burst like situation. Peak it cannot do that rating all the time more or less. But rms it can do all the time.. make sense?

Hope she didn't pay for install no Tessa tape on wire underneath the hood no wire loom for underneath the hood for protection you have the power wire sitting by brake fluid which is extremely corrosive the fuse block is just sitting there not even secured just a really noob install I can go on and on about this video but there's too much wrong with it install wise he got the job done but he didn't take any precautions to do the install properly

Uriel Espinal I grabbed it from a fuse from the fuse box under the hood can’t remember which fuse you just have to check with a volt meter. Need one that turns on and off with the car check the cigarette lights radio or amp fuses first those are the ideal ones to tap off of.
