How did you get your radio screen to have the italicized fonts and blue highlights? I haven't seen that on other Jeeps.
@QuickShifts5 жыл бұрын
Ryan Jensen go into the settings menu and change the “Theme” around to what you like. There are a lot of options available to choose from. My son picked out this one.

Great comparison video. Most mud tires will be noisier than an all-terrain tire. The additional on-road noise is the price you pay for additional offroad capability.

Just picked up a MOAB Wednesday. Drove both, quite honestly I thought the MOAB was way to noisy.. got the dealer to switch tires from a Rubicon.. my personal take is it drives on road MUCH better with the Rubicon tires.. thanks for doing the comparison, both great vehicles.. since I’m 98% on road the MOAB was my choice, but in all honesty I hated the original tires on the truck..
@mattsynth6 жыл бұрын
David Einhorn did the dealer charge you more to change out the tires? The Rubicon tires are about 1” taller and wider then the Moab tires, any problems?
@deinhorn26 жыл бұрын
@@mattsynth no, they were very accommodating as I really didn't like the ride and noise with the original tires.
@QuickShifts6 жыл бұрын
David Einhorn I hear yea. I had a Rubicon Recon before this one and it had similar tires to the Moab so for me it wasn’t a big deal. They did quiet down some after I got some miles on them in comparison to when they were brand new but as you see in the video, they are still louder. Honestly I don’t pay it much attention anymore.

I'm trying to decide between these exact two vehicles! Does the Moab in 4H aytihandle noticibly better than the Ruby???
@QuickShifts5 жыл бұрын
Davey Tomasulo unless you are doing serious trails, Moab all day. It’s definitely a better ride for the suburbs. But I will say the Rubicon tends to hold value better.

What’s the size tires on the rubicon and moab? :) you think the rubi tires could fit the moab with no lift?
@QuickShifts4 жыл бұрын
You can definitely put The Rubicon tires on the Moab without a lift. Here are the tire sizes for reference. 2018 Jeep JL Rubicon - BF Goodrich All-Terrain 285/70R17 tires. 2018 JEep JL Moab - BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain 255/75R17 tires.

The BFG A/T K02 have a deep grone when the tire pressure is too low for cornering forces. For me the difference between 30 & 35psi was night and day as far as noise and handling confidence.

Good point. Thanks for watching and commenting!

The road noise is not that bad as you mentioned. My Jeep will very rarely go off road so the Moab may be my better bet. The dash on the Moab is definitely much nicer looking with all that leather. You could also put all terrain tires on the Moab at a later date. I was wondering if the Moab will handle 35 without a lift like you can do with the Rubicon.
@deinhorn26 жыл бұрын
I guess the noise and ride may be subject to what ones personal tolerances. Personally I could not stand the original tires ride and noise. For me I use my Jeep almost exclusively on road. Don't know about 35's on a MOAB without a lift. They will work on a Rubicon without suspension mods.
@QuickShifts6 жыл бұрын
mattsynth from what I’ve researched, I will probably stick with these Mud-terrain until they need replaced and then step up to a 33 unless I lift it. But I plan to run with what I got until I have a reason to replace it.

@@QuickShifts I am going to try asking the dealer to swap them out for all terrains like David Einhorn did at his dealer. I had 35" BFG muds on my last Jeep and they sang out loud but I did not mind so much because they looked awesome on my Jeep. This time around I am older and looking for a mostly luxury Jeep (with maybe a little pinch of attitude) so the all terrains may fit that ticket. Thanks again for all you time, you have be a tremendous help and it is really appreciated.

mattsynth I don’t think the Moab has the higher fenders like the rubi. So I would say no 35s would rub.
@danielchiaravalle5 жыл бұрын
does the moab have the same factory installed lift kit?
@QuickShifts5 жыл бұрын
It rides at a stock height. There is no lift on it. You can install one if you would want to. Mopar lifts will work.
@danielchiaravalle5 жыл бұрын
Quick Shifts thanks. So it is lower than the rubicon and would ride better on road?
@QuickShifts5 жыл бұрын
daniel chiaravalle Yes to both. It has Sahara fenders which are lower than Rubicon as well.

If Im considering a used MOAB for the looks and a used Sahara for the lower cost, this will be my only car and I dont plan to off-road really, what would be the better buy
@QuickShifts4 жыл бұрын
Chas Mira Thank you for watching and commenting! Based on your comment, I would recommend you go with a Sahara. You can always do cosmetic mods here and there during your ownership of the vehicle to keep it interesting and in the long run, it will be cheaper. That being said, I loved and do miss my Moab. My favorite Jeep I’ve owned thus far. Happy hunting!

I thought the Moab sounded louder, but without an A/B back and forth comparison it's hard to tell. I'm listening on Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers and subwoofer. Maybe it's just the engine low frequencies coming thru the sub. You might also want to try an audio measurement app. I have Decibel X on my iPhone.
@QuickShifts6 жыл бұрын
The tone on the Moab makes it more noticeable, but the decibels are greater in the Rubicon. We did use the decibel app. It’s close but the Moab kept reading a touch lower. Maybe the roof inserts actually help. We have noticed the Alien Sunshade we installed did help the noise a small bit.

Try a set of DUELER Revo3 A/T tires. They're very very quiet, good off road tire. Not really a deep mud tread but good sand and snow grip. (Might sell the original MOAB tires on Craigslist )

Nena Xtina I would agree with you. The leather trim dash is very nice to look at and not as “extreme” as the red Rubicon interior.
