I don't go to concerts very often, due to have severe panic attacks in big crowds...but I HAD to see the Moodies...come hell or high water, I had the chance to see them, so I endured the massive crowd to enjoy a Moody Blues concert. I have endured several other concerts...anti-anxiety meds can do wonders for a shot term fix.... BUT the Moody Blues was the BEST concert I ever went to. Hands down, the BEST.

A very self-effacing man, so rare in an industry of huge egos. He is also something else, a English gentleman. Once there were so many, now, sadly, that breed is almost extinct. There are few true “men” these days and certainly few “gentlemen” - once one of my country’s best features. They are now are just like spoiled children.

They spent almost a full minute on the topic discussing very specifically such a thing. For your punishment you should watch the entire episode again - and as much amazing Ed Bernstein work as you can. All right, all right, it's 86% of the way through the video when both of them talk about it.

All right, now pulling out the record jacket. This one is not a fold out. Looks like I bought it at Peaches Records in Atlanta in 1975, so this might be my second copy. This one is a British Import from Deram Records London. In Stereo, ha ha! All it says is "THE LONDON FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA conducted by PETER KNIGHT". So I'll permit you to thrash me over a technicality. Ed said "London Festival Symphony Orchestra". Hey this is 50 year old stuff! BTW the jacket says "All Music composed: Redwave-Knight". That must refer to the scoring. I just pulled out the inner sleeve (which I kept in addition to a special DiscWasher sleeve :) ) which says "The London Record Group" and the LP (which feels heavy!) label does say Hayward on KIWS. Pinder, Thomas and Lodge are listed on other cuts too.

The original Moody Blues were Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas, Graeme Edge, Denny Laine and Clint Warwick with an album in 1964. You can hear the influence of Mike Pinder and Ray Thomas on that album. MIke Pinder then brought Justin Hayward and John Lodge into the band with a new sound he created with Days of Future Passed in 1967. There is an interview with Mike Pinder on KZbin.

My only addition is that Laine and Pinder had written quite a few original numbers in an attempt to follow up on Go Now and their blues-filled live shows, which had a lot of raw energy. Though there were some very catchy songs, none became hits. So Mike Pinder had been songwriting for a while. Those early MBs were great, but quite a different experience that the MBs than we've all enjoyed for so many years.

I think your music holds the tradition in Europe that preserves the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the round table. It is still there, aside from Harry Potters history that came along to be in the history of Europe and more of a child's tale. I write stories to music and I have the legend of King Arthur and his court on horse moving threw a forest toward a castle. They are honoring a lady in sky blue shimming long gown, silver ground, on a white horse. Richard Burton in the movie Camelot says Genevieve Genevieve, "woman of the people". The Album is Holiday Journey by town and country. The song is Here we come a Wassailing. Nice hearing from you Justin.

Nothing to do with King Arthur, Its called Nights in White Satin, not Knights in White Satin, its to do with a romantic interlude at the end of a day in the life of whoever! A conceptual album about a day in a life from morning, Afternoon Twighlight, evening till night and the satin is that beautiful white shiny material that reflects light, could be a dress, negligee or a shirt, as Justin loves fancy shirts. I had a white satin mini dress in the mid 60's, maybe it was one of them, they were very popular, I used to love dancing in it, as it had a flared hem and caught the light as you moved, my brother John bought it for me. 🎶🎶🎶

Funny how Howard is mentioned at the end. Many who are summarily disgusted with Howard, and wouldn't dream of listening to his interviews, aren't aware that he's pretty amazing at it. He asks the very questions that one would wish if one could only ask a celebrity one question, like "How did you play Knights live?" and "How does that work [when you're about to do a huge album]" or "How did you come up with Days Of Future Passed?". Ed, you might not enjoy the comparison, but you sound surprisingly similar to how he works when he's doing serious celebrity interviews. His McCartney and Stevie Wonder ones strongly jump to mind. (BTW both of those have run on KZbin.)

I don’t think the Moody Blues were that interested in being in the Hall of Fame as it is a vey American thing and is of no interest in the rest of the world. Days of Future Passed was not recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra. It was recorded with a group of session musicians who called themselves the London Festival Orchestra.

The Moodies made up a story about how fame went to Mike's head and that he demanded the band come to California to work on Octave. They also said Mike left the band. But in 1977 Mike had problems with his immigration papers and if he had left the US he might not have been able to get back in. Mike was perfectly willing to play and be in the band, he just didn't feel like touring anymore. Also, at the R&R Hall of Fame induction this year they didn't let Mike speak. Despicable.

I question JH having written Nights and Tuesday or any one of the members having written songs under their names. They were part of the George Martin Tavistock agenda, to draw young people into the occult and transmeditation. Certainly, anything other than Jesus Christ. Transmeditation is actually dangerous, leaving open the door to your mind to demons. However, demons have been named by many great people as their muse. The Beatles actually held disdain for the India guru they were brought to. And let's not forget about Timothy Leary. LSD, anyone? Patrick Moraz actually wrote a song that JH deemed to be good. The offer Justin made reveals a lot about him. Justin proposed that 90 percent royalties would go to him along with his name in the credits. Patrick didn't take that deal. Most songs out there now and then are written by a committee to serve the cause of social engineering. Remember when the Beatles claimed to be bigger than Jesus Christ. The backlash drove their popularity down the toilet shortly after.
@dannobles80285 жыл бұрын
Justin admits doing LSD with 3 other members of the band. A lot of that was going on then...people were looking for enlightenment in mostly the wrong places. But to say they didn't write their own music...let's see how deeply I can roll my eyes. People who see conspiracy in everything are scary people. Just because people hold celebrities or popular musicians in high regard doesn't mean they are perfect. Some think they are. From what I've heard from the Moody Blues over the years, they don't see themselves as perfect and usually seem quite humble.
@lindakachur48625 жыл бұрын
@@dannobles8028 Well then, now that the 'project' has ended, the MB no longer operated by George Martin & Co., the committee of agenda setting song writing, what's happened? JH' s talents doesn't remotely come close to the earlier works. These songs are embarrassingly cheesey, nothing close to what 'JH' managed to do, in his TEENS?? no less. I smell bullshit. The very HARD eyeball roll goes to those who are faint of heart for the truth. Don't you even realize that by pointing your fingers at 'conspiracy theories' proves how successfully brainwashed you've been? The 'project' succeeded as planned, why were we so easily duped? Conspiracy, denoted as something far out wingnut, in fact, means catching on to the very deviousness that was to have been kept hidden. It is no longer hidden from ME! And, the facts and truth about the Tavistock Project, and what is still unfolding, is far more egregious than you could possibly imagine. The truth has been coming out, what was hidden is being revealed, as prophesied. And it will most likely be devastating for the stubbornly stupid, those who lobotomize themselves from truth. For, truth is GOD. Those who deny truth deny GOD, and have taken their place next to Satan and all his lies. The Book of Revelation warns the worst kind of death awaiting them in the end times. Jesus asks that we pray and repent so that we may be kept from these evils. The NWO cabal, or the Beast system, according to Revelations, take power for 42 months. Thanks to the help of all the little puppets and minions who sold their souls for fame and wealth and have become your idols. Who is behind Tavistock? They had been busy fattening the sheeple in verdant pastures until marched for the slaughter. Musicians and artists singing praise of transmeditaton, LSD, pot, the occult, black majik, alcohol, sexual permissiveness, Aleister Crawley's do as thou wilt, are all Judas Goats. Have you pushed aside the One True God and His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ? Even as a much younger and naive person, I could sense the unwholesomeness and darkness of the music, although it was very pleasing and brilliantly executed. It was slick and seductive. Nothing short of what should be expected from the greatest musician heaven ever beheld, and that was Lucifer. How he has since fallen, and is now in great earnest to take you down with him.
@dannobles80285 жыл бұрын
@@lindakachur4862 I guess you haven't listened to their latest solo efforts. Sure, they don't have the energy and intrigue of the earlier stuff, but I notice that's what happens when all artists get older. Tastes/drives change. They are not 'hip' to put out today's kind of music, nor should they be - am really glad they're not. To me, you seem to be assigning your own agenda to the interpretation of Revelations. NWO Cabal, Tavistock??? - are you sure you aren't following something other than the Bible? You're another person that calls people 'sheeple' and 'puppets' to affirm that you alone are special and are somehow enlightened to the 'truth'. Talk about smelling BS - I can smell that a mile away. MB lyrics - "We look around in wonder, at the work that has been done by the visions of our father touched by his loving son." Is that inspired by satan as well? Again, these guys aren't perfect. No one here is. And they are not my idols, but I do enjoy listening to their music.
@dannobles80285 жыл бұрын
strangely, if their music was 'designed to mesmerize and indoctrinate you to study transmeditaton and use LSD' as you say, they failed dismally.
