6:30 Nice old-school Ford window switches to recline the second row seats. The F-Pace has these as well. Jaguar/Land Rover must think no one will notice this.
@Clavinovaman6 жыл бұрын
Car manufacturers often use the same suppliers for their interior car parts. For example, there is one main company in the world that makes the electric rear boot door switches used on SUVs. Whether you have an X5 or a Discovery Sport - it is the same switch, or at least - the very same plastic. Such economies result in switches being dirty cheap for all manufacturers and supply being very very easy.

Curious use of spelling in your post. I think it is 'Hm' and nah', but perhaps you were trying to be dramatic? But, in fact, you are both wrong, the buttons are made by a Midlands UK firm not used by Ford. May look similar, but ultimately, not the same. _Thank you_ for your time and effort in replying, however.

Haha I work at a Land Rover/Jaguar dealership. Some of the mechanical parts in the 2014+ Range Rover Sport, 2012+ Range Rover, 2016+ Discovery, and F-Pace literally have the “Ford Motor Company” engraved onto them. Tata bought Land Rover Jaguar but all they did was making them look better. The parts are still mainly supplied by Ford.

Velar means "To Veil" in Latin. They used this name in 1969 to test out the first generation Range Rover on public roads and as a code name to "veil" the actual identity of the car, which they mangled to keep a secret until 1970 when the first Range Rover was unveiled.

Beautiful cinematography as always Tom. I do like the Velar's exterior design. The interior generally looks good as well, but I do not place much trust in those screens that control many important functions to keep on working well long-term. Some have already experienced problems with them almost brand new. They're good for the wow factor when the car is brand new but not something I'd want to own long-term.
@ktpinnacle6 жыл бұрын
That was my thought as well. I usually buy what I really want and keep long-term. I'd really love this or a RR Sport, but once the warranty (which is decent) expires, I'm concerned that it'll be a well-depreciated money sink. And those repairs will cost more than a domestic vehicle like a Yukon (which is what I drive now) when they inevitably occur.

My thoughts exactly!

i certainly miss the range rovers of yesteryear, especially the iconic late 80's/90's rovers. they weren't all too dependable, but they were a bonny lot to look at. reminds me of the pretty lads who used to take them past the M25 for the countryside. lots of rovers in bayswater/paddington/chelsea.

Honestly don't think the lack of rear seat heaters, will be a deal breaker for some. Yes at this price point they should be there, but given all the other things this vehicle brings to the table it can be over looked. Plus I'm sure most Velar buyers will will be young business with professionals with 1 or no children. Plus kids don't care about that. And adults in the rear will be more wow'd by the panoramic roof, ambient lighting and the sheer fact they are being driven in a range rover.

I like these but I think I’d stick with my eye on a 2017 RR Sport. The design is nice but I honestly think the extra black gloss black stripe that flows into the rear lower reflector lights looks really tacky and as a bit of an after thought. The best thing about the Range Rovers is they haven't got that ugly obscene bonnet join 6 inches back from the front of the car over the radiator like the Jaguars , I would never buy a Jag because of it as you can see the misalignment as the body part comes together and three different body part joins over the headlights , ugly beyond belief and misaligned .
