2018 Lincoln Navigator - Watch Out Cadillac, Lincoln Is Back!

Hey everyone! Unfortunately, some of the audio files from production of this video contained a very high amount of static noise from a bad mic cable. Not to worry, the cable has been disposed of and we tried our best to fix the audio. Some of the clips include a voiceover and you may notice some hard cuts in the footage but other then that, it came together a bit better versus the 2018 Mustang video we uploaded last week. Lincoln and caddilac have taken different paths. Cadillac is trying to be a sports car first, with luxury amenities like an Audi (but audi's do it better) Lincoln is going the route of a Rolls Royce stlye luxury for a third of the money. I like the Lincoln route

Davis Winn You sound like a biased Lincoln fanboy. Cadillac isn’t “trying” to be a sports car. They’ve successfully become one of few brands that offer the best of both worlds (luxury *and* performance). If you look at a 2014 Cadillac CTS-V Sport Premium, the fastest (sportiest) Cadillac built at the time, there weren’t many corners cut with that vehicle all for the sake of luxury. The interior is gorgeous and made any Lincoln sedan look like a rebadged Ford Fusion/Taurus. Quite frankly, the Cadillac CTS-V still does make any/all Lincoln sedans look like rebadged Fords. The interior of the CTS-V blows any Ford or Lincoln competitor away. The Lincoln Continental is a joke compared to the Cadillac CT6-V. Cadillac effortlessly offers both luxury and performance here. There’s very little sportiness about the Cadillac Escalade. It’s a luxurious SUV. This is the reason it effortlessly outsold the Navigator it competed with which was a fail, and rebadged Ford Expedition. Lincoln doesn’t offer much of any performance so they hone in on luxury. If they didn’t offer luxury, there would be no reason to consider one. Let’s be logical and fair here. Not delusional biased fanboys. Lol

J The Nautilus (previously the MKX) hasn’t been redesigned yet. It only got a refresh with the new Lincoln grill. Lincoln is planning the redesign the Nautilus and their other vehicles to match the current design language that you see on the Navigator and Aviator.

The Blue Rhapsody theme on the Continental reminds me a lot of my great-grandmother’s Town Car that shares the same amount of blue leather, suede and chrome all over. It was so pretty and relaxing

To use Waze with SYNC3, you have to have Carplay disabled. Waze probably popped up when you first plugged your phone in, but as soon as you enabled and connected Carplay, then Apple Maps becomes the default. At least that's been my experience with my Ford Fusion.

Agree. I have a Lincoln MKX with Sync3 and Waze is an app available on the Sync side verses the Carplay side. You can switch between Waze or the Lincoln manufactured nav system if the iPhone is plugged in. My understanding is that with the newer version of iPhone software that isn't out yet Waze will be available in Apple Carplay as a option to use verses Apple's own maps.

Unlike the irrational GM haters who refuse to give GM credit, GM faithful(like me) will give credit to Ford/Lincoln for this great looking SUV inside and out. Lincoln is upper their game replacing their previous SUV lineup that was very dated. Cadillac's Escalade has aged really well and will still hold the trophy for large SUV luxury. Lincoln is building a good reputation with this new Navigator, however. Looking forward to seeing the Escalade replacement in 2020.

Ford owner here! To get Waze back all you have to do is go to settings > Apple CarPlay > disable but it's not worth the hassle because of the lag. Just wait for iOS 12 this fall for it to be available via CarPlay

I think one reason for the Navigator not having power and ventilated 2nd row seats is that it would very expensive to engineer and add to the cost of the vehicle to still allow it to fold and get out of the way for the 3rd row. As well as for the fact is that the Navigator is targeting families who want a luxury SUV. I mean if you want a power, heated and ventilated seat with massage function i think a Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography would be a good choice or an Mercedes Benz-Maybach would be a better choice. However those vehicles don't seat 6 to 7 more passengers, not including driver, for the price of what one will be getting for the Lincoln Navigator. The demand on these is so high dealers are selling them within a week. I remember a time back during the economic crisis when these things sat on the lot for months before being sold, now they're selling before they even hit the dealerships, and average transaction price is around $85,000+.... Believe it or not these are mostly private party sales not commercial purchases like previously. I think Ford & Lincoln are doing right by focusing on SUVs, pickups, crossovers, performance cars, and small sedans/hatchbacks because thats what they seem to sell the most of right now. The midsize sedan segment is so overcrowded right now that it's not even worth it to them and the full size sedan is nearly extinct.

I am a Lincoln navigator owner for 14 years. A 2000 and a 2006 model. Owned the 06' since new. I love all about the new body style, I just wish that Lincoln would stop making the brake lights across the whole entire rear end. Please Lincoln, just put a chrome badge in the middle of the lift gate along with a chrome bar extending towards the brake lights not the brake lights all the way across. Thank you for your time. The reason that the navigator has the manual second row seats is because of the button feature that allows the second row to easily glide forward to allow people to get into the third row. If they were power you would be forced to wait for the slow moving electric seat to finish before you can get in.

that interior is giving me flashbacks to my folks' old Pontiac Catalina Safari wagon and not in a good way. too dark and oppressive-feeling. not that i could in a million years afford such a beast.
