Always liked Larry -- especially when he questioned the meaning of my horse's name during a race which he went on to win. He's a unique guy.

Larry is a great person & race caller. I loved his comedy. I remember writing him a fan letter when I was a young teen. Larry called me up to thank me and called my name in a race that night. It meant so much to me. Prayers for you all around Larry.Sam M

I met Larry in the press box at Garden State in 1987. He called Vegas oddsmakers for sports betting "professional good guessers." He was always available to call races anywhere on the east coast it seemed.

Incredible that he's still around, though that's sad.
