Hey Ron, love what you do. I have seen some cars fixed from the northeast and I have been amazed. Would love to see some of the stuff your shop does (in process) so people can see what the right thing looks like.

It's like they don't care enough to do it right,if they can't make money they should get out of the business

I call bullshit on orange peel. Quality clear coat applied to right thickness is meant to be smooth. Wet sanding is part of proper finishing. I expect complete repaints to look like glass. Orange peel is from bad painter, incorrect reducer for temp, etc.

Kris N yes, if you’re looking for a custom finish, not what’s needed on late model vehicles. Texture is as important as color match, proper texture is the protection and has to duplicated to the factory finish.

Hi how thin of paint is close to burning clear coat for auto detail buffing after a job like this Paint thickness gauge mils
@ProfessionalsAutoBody Жыл бұрын
There are a lot of variables, two, three, or four stages. Typically, there should be between 8-10 mills. In most cases, we see the shop sands a lot of the clear off 3-4 mills to remove all the trash they put in the paint wan refinishing. This doesn't leave much top coat and can cause problems in different environments.
