This is one of the most interesting channels on KZbin. You do an excellent job researching then reporting about this industry. Keep it up, a lot of people are interested in this type of yachting. I was quite curious back in the 80's when I attended the Monaco Grand Prix and walked around the harbor and looked at the yachts in town for the race. And thank you for the reporting on the Russian Oligarch's yachts being seized or trying to escape the long arm of the law. Excellent work!

The blue sailing ketch is Perseus, it is read Persefs. It's a 196.85ft /60m 60M Series 'Perseus^3' was built in 2015 by Perini Navi.

The many Rosa are for telling for tuna marlin ocean swordfish. And on a boat that size trolling you could pull 20 baits (rods) at a time so when one gets a bit. You grab the other lines and job them to trigger more bites

ESysman, Question: How are yacht priced? Is it based on tonnage, length, or tech? Like residential real estate is valued based on comparatives, but commercial real estate is valued based on CAP rate. Are there such rules for pricing yachts? How do we compare between yachts to know if they are selling at a reasonable price or not.

The Sailing yacht is "Perseus" is the son of Zues in Greek Mythology. "Pur-See-Us" (: just a little help there for you. Btw 400K Euros a week for that big of a Yacht is actually pretty affordable relatively speaking lol.

How do a yacht owner pick a crew?

They employ a broker who specializes in selecting crew. A [multi] billionaire simply pays the bills, and has specialists do the donkey work.

There are management companies who maintains the operational side of the vessels. The companies will have database of people with different skills and as and when required they will dispatch a single or the whole crew. They will also manage the docking systems, provisions etc and bills the owner with a percentage. The companies usually run pretty much everything on owners behalf and they also get a cut from the crew for their employment ie if they maintain with a management company they pay a figure monthly which covers their insurance medical etc and more importantly keeps them within employment ie if one operator withdraw the vessel they will find you another boat to work on etc. Management company for these boats are big money.

♦️ Perseus is a figure in greek mythology who was predicted by the oracle at Delphi to kill his father and therefore thrown by him into the sea in a wooden chest in order to prevent the prediction from coming true. ♦️ Riva's largest yacht so far is not the one you mention in the video.
