As a solo motorbike camping enthusiast found this one of the most comprehensive gear KZbin videos to date - let alone 5 years ago. Thanks.

Thank you for posting this! Our packing priorities may not be the same, but I saw a couple of items that interested me. I like that little air pump...I currently use one that connects to power on the bike and already pretty compact, but this one is even smaller.
@VotoCycling6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's very tiny. It does take a bit to blow up the air pad that I have, but I'm usually setting other things up while it's blowing. So, I don't even notice the time. Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

"It's -12000 outside." It's cold in Norway but not that cold! LOL Now I'm really fed up with snow and wanna go riding and camping. Impressive equipment, looking forward to see how everything works out. As always awesome video 👍

Yeah, I was editing and realized the frustration I had of the cold weather. I shouldn't complain, it's still beautiful and sunny (just extremely cold). LOL I'm pretty sure it's colder in Norway! I can't wait to see how the equipment works out and share my experience with every one! :)

I have a trangia stove set up alcohol stove not too heavy for motorcycle camping. It's a very useful kit you can do a lot of different things with it and it's quiet I also have a Primus and jetboil I switched tents and now I've got a Redverz. The garage makes a great place to stand up and get dressed and hang out, I also have a double-wide sleeping bag and pad, I couldn't stand being in a mummy bag
@VotoCycling6 жыл бұрын
Nice! I was going to looking into the Trangia alcohol stove but haven't gotten around to it. I figure I'd go camping first before investing into other lightweight products. Also, the Redverz tents look awesome! I can't wait to look into them for future trips if my current tent doesn't work out. Thanks for watching and commenting!

IF you can't find a waterproof bag, you can make your own. Gore-Tex is readily available online for $10 a yard at 48" wide widths. The sites I have looked at offer the seam sealing material required as well to totally waterproof it to the standards you are used to if you have ever used it. Not difficult to sew either so you can lay out with cheaper cloth the right dimensions, then lay out and clip on to the Gore-Tex fabric to get you going. After that it just involves a bit of sewing and seam sealing.
@VotoCycling6 жыл бұрын
Nice! I'll have to look into that. My mom's a seamstress so I can ask her to help me sew the sack together. Thanks for the info!

www.rockywoods.com/FABRICS/Activewear-Fabrics/Waterproof-Breathable-Fabrics/Coating/Gore~Tex%C2%AE,PET-Film Price has gone up some since the last time I looked. About $25 a yard for 3 layer Gore-Tex, but there are other fabrics at a lower per yard cost, still waterproof you could use. Glad to be of help. Nice work on the video.

I love motorcycle camping and have done it from Newfoundland to Alaska to Mexico. To me one of the best part is camp cooking. A long day without a good meal is just a long, long day. On stoves I wouldn't have a "pocket rocket". It's not that they don't work, they do, but they are inherently unstable. I saw a guy get badly scalded while trying to make coffee once when someone else bumped the picnic table. Strongly recommend a propane or butane single burner stove as they sit flat. With a small windscreen, they are the best. Coleman makes them.. not quite as minimalist, certainly larger than pocket rocket, but far safer. I will sub to see how you do. Hope you love it as I do.
@VotoCycling6 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Wow, you've been camping far and in between! Yes, I know exactly what you mean about the pocket rockets. I tried it in the garage and I certainly know what you mean. I'm in the process of getting a more stable setup like you mention. Looking forward to trying some different things and documenting it. Snow is finally letting up here and going camping in a couple of weeks here. Can't wait!

You can buy legs that attach to the gas canister, they work

I love that style of stove. It is so small and compact that it fits well in a motorcycle saddlebag. That is my preferred method. A flat cast iron skillet, small, can be useful as well. Great for burgers, or pancakes. something like 8" or smaller can work great.
@VotoCycling6 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, I might have to look into a flat cast iron skillet. I do love a good cooking pan of some sort. Thanks for stopping by!

Pancakes are a great way to start the day. A can of peaches, can put fruit into the mix, Save the juice for syrup. It will help carry you a long way down the road with a full belly. Good video, keep up the good work.

Just found your channel. Some great information by the way. And so good to see women getting into the motorcycle camping. Some good products on the list. But woooo. That Helinox stuff is so off the charts, in pricing. Insane. I saw a chair for $600 But I guess someone is buying it..
@VotoCycling5 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thank you for your kind words. I started making these videos because I couldn't find many motorcycle camping videos by women. I really want to spread the word so hopefully, more women will try motorcycle camping. It's definitely hard to do research when there aren't many videos for women. LOL Honestly, I don't know why Helinox producs has risen in price so much since I made this video. I looked at some of the prices for Helinox products and it has definitely gone up. I did not pay anywhere near what they're charging now for their products. I plan on making more videos of my new setup (Hammock camping with motorcycles), so hopefully it'll give more viewers a different perspective. Thanks for watching!

What sort of sandals were those? If they're just flip flops, then I recommend Havaianas. Don't settle for cheap foam ones, they flatten out in a week, and sharp stones etc will bury themselves in them. Havaianas are made from some magic mojo blend of natural and artificial rubber that is pretty much impossible to wear out or compress over time. Also, plastic foam is not bad for the skin on your soles. I used to get athlete's foot in plastic flip flops, but never had them again since I switched. Maybe not a crucial bike camping consideration, but it's my only gear experience contribution here. ^_^
@zooblestyx7 жыл бұрын
Also, for the first split second there, the plate looked like an Axiom putter. ^_^
@VotoCycling7 жыл бұрын
I know! I reminded me of a disc too! LOL Also, I looked into the sandals you recommended, I put it on my wish list. If motorcycling camping becomes a long term thing, I'll invest in one of those sandals. Thanks!!

Well, any advice I would have gave you, pretty much you got it down. Don't buy cheap camping gear and think like a back packer. Wish I would have known those two things at the beginning, 10 years ago. LOL So how did you like your Hubba Hubba? What stove did you like the most? Did you love the experience of motorcycle camping? If you loved it, you might have to upgrade to an Adventure style bike or a bike capable of having panniers/saddle bags. I ride a BMW R1200 GSA, it's perfect for motorcycle camping and taking roads less traveled, but big. BTW, love how you got all that in those 3 bags and got them on your bike, awesome.
@VotoCycling6 жыл бұрын
Wow, thank you for your kind words! I love my Hubba Hubba. As a matter of fact, I'm sure I'll use it for car camping if I'm solo or just with a friend. It's perfect for solo camping and it fits so well on pretty much any motorcycle. I loved my first motorcycle camping experience. I will definitely continue this adventure. And you are RIGHT! Since, I love it so much, I'm looking at upgrading my bike. LOL I've purchased a cruiser (for now, to go around town), but I'm looking at getting something similar to your BMW R1200 (it'll probably a smaller version of something similar). Packing on a sport bike is very tricky. LOL But some side bags will help tremendously. Thanks for commenting!

Unfortunately, they are expensive stuff. But after testing all this gear a few times this riding season, I see why the price is the way it is. However, finding deals on Amazon other online retailers (REI garage) and being patient can sometimes ease the blow on the wallet. :)

Watching your video cost me $1,000 - you seem to only buy the best products and not many people can afford it. Good video and tips...
@VotoCycling5 жыл бұрын
I used to buy more affordable products and then would sell them later to replace it with something better. It ended up costing more money in the long run. So I stopped doing that and just save up and buy once. Now, after some of the videos, I do want to get some more affordable options to compare so viewers can see how products differ. Thanks for watching!

I don't think you got the means of being camping simply & Light ...If you need all those expensive & 10 items with the same function to able warm your Tea, or eat your foods Or arrange camping with lots & lots of items ..Then you missed the Fun of camping .. It is Not the story to Go Market Pay 500 Or More for camping gears just as you plan for 2 nights ..Just to avoid take the hotel room ..Then you are free But you lost the main goal Or Concept of Motor Bike camping ..Fun, Affordable & Light & being a Free.
