I've been renting cars to drive Cleveland to NYC (and back) for years now (482 miles), and the Altima SL is the first vehicle I was able to make the trip on one tank of gas! Actually, about 3/4 of a tank! I was blown away by that alone.

I've owned a 2014 Altima 2.5SV for just over 3 years and 27,000 miles. Only purchased it because somebody screwed up entering the odometer reading at an auction and corrected it immediately after. Flagged as Odometer Fraud and I got it $5,000 below blue book due to it lol. Figured it would be a decent commuter, ended up loving this thing it's like a Lexus to me compared to my previous base model cars and trucks. You weren't kidding it is pretty peppy for what it is, and the fuel economy still impresses me.

I believe the Altima was Nissan’s top seller for many years before the Rogue took it’s place recently. I personally had three Altima’s in a row. A 2009, a 2013 and a 2015. Never had much of a problem to speak of. Got great gas mileage and many would comment on how comfortable their “Zero Gravity” seats were. I was even hit by a drunk driver and totaled on a freeway in the 2013 Altima and walked away without a scratch! But I would never waste my money on anything but the base model. That’s where this car made most sense to me. Super cheap leases.

I rented a base model Altima back in 2011 and was quite pleased with its comfort and fuel economy... took me all around Kansas City for a weekend trip... can't wait to see and drive the 2019 Altima in person. BTW, the SL is actually the top-tier trim level in terms of features (only option this one doesn't have is the nav system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), the "hierachy" of trims per sea is 2.5 S (base), 2.5 SR (base model with sports package), 2.5 SV (mid-level), 2.5 SL (top-of-the-line I4 powered model), and 3.5 SL (top-of-the-line and only V6-powered model). :)
@100RentalCars6 жыл бұрын
Hey Vincent! I haven't checked, but are there going to be major updates in the 2019? And yeah, Ben Dunn pointed out my mistake with the trims levels too. I had (wrongly) assume the SR Midnight Edition and the SR Special Edition were higher trim levels, but they're not. Sorry about that! Thanks for pointing out my mistake.

SR is in reality nearer to the SV than the S. S does not include fog lights, sport seating, and possibly power driver's seat. Also, SR includes auto braking. It's much more standard equipment on SR than base models.

I love the Altimas elephant head steering wheel....lol. The 2.5 Altima SL was one of my choices recently when I was considering buying a used third car for my wife and I. It's a good looking car with decent options and features for the price. Ultimately I bought a used Honda Civic but I still think this Altima would've been a good choice. I just wish Nissan would've included Android Auto or Apple CarPlay in their cars.

Probably the Camry, but they're pretty close. I did some light internet research and the consensus is the Altima goes 0 to 60 in 7.8 seconds while the Camry is slightly faster at 7.6 seconds. I'm not sure either of us would be able to tell the difference. I mean, it is .2 seconds.

You missed the key on the key fob on the back of the key fob there's a lever that you can press down with your finger and slide out the hidden key. You can lock your jockey box with it. you can also hold down the unlock button and roll down both front windows and you can also hold down the unlock and lock button at the same time for 3 seconds then your lights will flash three times and you can turn off the horn beep every time you press the lock button. If you want to turn it back on do the same thing but except your horn will honk 1 time and then that means it turned back on..

I just spent 8 days with an identical car during my Florida vacation. While the powertrain makes the most of a weak thrashy 4 cylinder and CVT, the 13-17 Accord CVT does a far better job in terms of performance and fuel economy. Not to mention the build quality of the Accord is far superior to the Altima.
