I think PBA is on CBS Sports now - a network you need to pay extra for despite getting a Sports package or Extreme package from Verizon.

It's really sad how the budget for bowling has gone down so much. I truly hope it doesn't completely die out Bc I love bowling. Thought this would be on tv for sure.

I remember when PBA was on network TV, garnering consistently high ratings. But then again, I also remember when baseball was the #1 sport in the USA. Sigh.

It's sadly the same with 5-pin bowling in Canada which used to be on tv in the 90s and even 2000s. Not anymore.

Glad to have Lucas Wiseman back. I thought commentary from him and Chris was very good. Production quality pretty weak. Scoring display painfully frustrating.

Eikman 81 I like the telecasts on Fox better, we don’t receive ESPN so I’ve not been able to watch these events live. It’s a money thing, $80-100 a month for cable is $10,000 in ten years, I can afford the $24 for annual Flobowling subscription

What the hell is this? It looks like an amateur tournament, camera angles are ridiculous, commentators are ridiculous, the bowling alley looks empty, what happened to the PBA tour this fall swing?
@douglasharris5216
@douglasharris5216 4 жыл бұрын
fabptitpom this is Flobowling, they do not have the money to produce a high quality stream because it’s all based on subscriptions with no commercials. It’s still competitive bowling and the money and titles are the same. Most PBA50 events are on Flobowling

Mike Thomas Each strike is different. The pins react differently to the ball which is released differently on a different board each time.

Yeesh, so much bitching about the commentary here... if you don't like it then turn off the sound 😕 I for one like to listen to Chris Barnes. He is a real technician of the sport and I find his pinpoints about the game and its equipment quite informative. Learn something new everyday.

My last tournament I bowled in urethane balls ruined the shot. I qualified 6 with reactive resin balls. Pro Bowlers should be able to adjust to reactive resin on any pattern.

Wow a bowling finals not in a stupid arena with people on both sides....Reminds me of the old telecasts, and the way it should be. I've lost all interest in watching since the arena thing and the 2 handed bowlers. Maybe things will go back before all is lost? Remember the old telecasts on ABC with Bo Burton and Chris Shinkle(sp)? Been checking out a few of the PBA50 shows on youtube. I like seeing those guys because they were my bowling "hero's" back in the day.

No thumb has been a thing since the 90s or maybe even late 80s so idk why everyone worries about that I think it's dying Bc a lot of people use crazy hook balls on easy shots on non wood lanes and it got too easy. Now people aren't satisfied with anything less that an 800 in league. so there's been a decline in playing in leagues etc Bc it's become too easy . That's where a lot of money came from. Personally I'd rather play more challenging shots to become a better player, but oh well
