One of the rare, good Australian Car Reviews. Most Australian car reviews are extremely generic and dont even touch upon what its like as a performance car, instead just talking about numbers and some really basic points. Loved it

Absolutely Fantastic Video Matey !! As a "Yank" who spent 8 years in magnificent Oz (4 in Mel"bun") very familiar with the amazing Grampians...What a location, what a video, what a car! As someone who watches hundreds of Car mags and KZbinrs' videos from all over the world, this is by far the best Video by an Aussie journalist I have ever seen (The only Videos that come close are some from Car Advice, but they are inconsistent in quality and presentation)...its just the way all the elements for a great video are brought together, and the location definitely helps. Reminds me of the best British Vids...well done, and hope to see more of your work with great cars and great locations in Victoria / NSW.

Ross Johnson that was the stretch off the highway from Horsham towards Halls gap. Safe to say 90% is shot on that Rd.

this videography was phenomenal i truly loved it, appreciate the work that went into this. re the whole PDK vs manual question- i had two 991 Porsche 911s in PDK, both were very dull to drive. and in sport plus, the damn thing would almost stall at stop lights on occasion. traded the 991 911 career S for a 2015 R8 manual. a month ago, suddenly a 991.2 GT3 manual transmission became available locally at dealership (typical wait list here is 1-2y to order one). i jumped on it and traded 2 cars to get it. its easily the best car i have ever driven. thanks again for a fabulous video review!!

I am more than happy with this video than ever before. I very much and mostly appriciate the fact that the location is stated in this video.I would also like to note the fact that the presenter properly drives the way which sports car needs to be expirienced (fast). Its my humble request for you to mention the filming locations in the upcoming videos going forward. I suggest to film in new locations every time so that we as Drivers will be better informed of the best driving roads in Australia. Hope for replys and comments to put forward my message

First time I've seen this Alex dude. It's refreshing to see an Aussie who can deliver lines a little more naturally for once! He certainly still has room for improvement though. I'm sick of Aussie motoring mag videos showing cars bumbling around at pedestrian pace, talking about the dynamics of the car that aren't relevant on a track or actually pushing it harder... We want to "see" the dynamics in action!

Doing 111kmhr at 5:16....So dangerous and reckless I'm sure the Victorian constabulary will be paying you a visit soon Alex. In all seriousness awesome video - great cinematography and good presenting. An enjoyable Aussie car review who would have thought. Having been lucky enough to drive a 991.1 gt3 - what a machine. Can't really use over 5000rpm here or it's straight to jail Oh and keep fighting for us Petrol heads who actually enjoy a nice drive on appropriate roads without fear of immediate loss of licence (having not lost a point on my full licence at 30 yo)

Honestly, if you'r going to get a PDK on the GT3, just buy an RS... When you have the money to buy such car, in general you can also buy an RS instead. By taking a PDK on this one, you'r losing the main interest of it :/ I prefer the GT3 to the RS by far, better looking (more street car looking, rather than track), and obviously the manual gearbox, which has become such a special thing to have on sports cars nowadays (unfortunately :'( ). Also, i prefer its sound to the RS. Awesome video though, probably the best review of it :)

Just one question, Is it a good daily driver?
@westpalmdoc6 жыл бұрын
let me answer that for you! i have had a 991.2 GT3 manual transmission car in my garage for a month and its a fantastic daily driver. cant comment on the bucket seats, i have the 18 way comfort seats, and its an extremely comfortable ride. i had a 991 Carrera S with i think 8 way adjustable seats and it was brutally uncomfortable for me- back pain galore. i drive mine to work. my wife also drives it to work. we both love it. it is a visceral raw driving experience, love all the road noise he complains about- i can literally run over sand and hear it plinking around in wheel wells like an automotive concert. also, it is the best manual transmission i have ever driven- fabulous copper bushings make for a great smooth metal grind on shifts. it IS fast as lightening- 0-60 is 3.5 in the manual per tests (ignore Porsche’s advertised always conservative #s). so speeding is about the only daily driver caution. but driving to work is an event i adore so yes, a fabulous daily driver. i am taking it to Sebring raceway next month to flex its legs.

‘147k road but to get there is hard. Clogged bad roads, over policed, in Victoria’. It’s pathetic really living in the over policed state, Victoria Australia. Where home invasions, bashing, home robberies, damaged and stolen cars are just a daily occurrence, if you do 5k’s over the speed limit, they throw the book at you. And clogged badly synchronised arterial roads make getting about in Melbourne a nightmare. Your report on the best sports car the world makes, Porsche 911 GT3 made up for my frustration living in the nanny state.
@balmain20026 жыл бұрын
You are so right - Driving to Geelong once we were 4ks over the speed limit, and received a 200 dollar fine and a screaming from the officer, insane!
@thestefsterbun18206 жыл бұрын
Of course - that's because dealing with robberies, bashing's and home invasions doesn't help the government make money to cover their poor budget choices. See police fines actually go to the city, not the police offers, however if you google any of this you'll find there are MANY examples of police officers being put under pressure to make their numbers. Latest State Government data shows South Australians were handed 244,360 expiation between 1 July 2016 and 11 January 2017 - earning the Government more than $75 million in just over six months. That’s equal to more than $380,000 every day, or $16,000 every hour, or $267 every minute… or $4.45 every second. The number of fines recorded by SA Police rose by 58 per cent in the four years from 2011-12 to 2015-16. That’s more than 10 times the growth rate of South Australia’s population (five per cent) over the same period. Now, try and argue that this isn't a money making scam from a government who doesn't know how to efficiently use our tax dollars without additional handouts...

Terrific review. Why ALL 911's can't sound this way and be naturally aspirated I will never understand. The emissions regulators must have given Porsche a "big incentive" to only produce ONE NA 911. I mean if they can put out the GT3 (later the RS version...sure to come). They MUST be able to make a lesser NA 911 or make all 911's NA from a technical point of view. Politics. As great as the GT3 is. Checking more boxes than almost all sports cars for the road...it is in the end a REAR-engined car. Behind the rear axle biased car. Vs an Audi R8...or Porsche's Cayman's that are MID-engined biased. Love to see a NA Cayman. :)
