Good review Marek, For us in Kenya these high performance suvs work well, as a sports car can’t handle the poor road quality, size of road bumps and light off-roading.

The percentage of business from SUV platforms is not only huge,it is also still growing.A box is still a great idea and people still require practicality when spending so much on a new vehicle.Porsche still needs to make profit to stay around,bigger sales numbers means more cash flow to fund new R&D.They have great designers and engineers and they can keep them busy.A good business story>

15 years after launching Cayenne, Porsche is selling about 30k 911s, 20k 718s, and 2-3 times as many Cayennes and Macans.

There is an option to lowering the back of the vehicle to make easier load and unload things

I personally dislike crossovers, road-biased and sports SUVs. Want a family car? Get an estate or a minivan! Want a working vehicle for tough terrain? Get an SUV/offroader or a pickup truck. Although I agree with you - when you can afford a couple of these, common sense doesn't matter.

I really wonder how the Audi E-tron quattro or Jaguar I pace are going to impact the sale of high end SUVs. Maybe the turbo version of this will come out unscathed but for 75k-80k euro, both the Jag and the Audi are going to stir things up in my opinion. Electric power = instant power and big fuel savings. Nice video Marek!

There is also the question of consistent performance. In an ICE car (especially a performance model) you can accelerate time after time, and get relatively consistent results. An EV can do a couple of launches, and it will most likely go into so sort of battery protection mode. Yes, I'm referring to Tesla. Allegedly Porsche is developing an EV, which will allow for more consistent performance.

I guess the answers will reveal itself soon, for sure. Personally I've only owned manual transmission cars all of my life, which says something in the context of living in NA, but I think if the Jag and Audi can avoid that issue Tesla has, we are seeing big trouble for ICE performance SUVs and sedans as well as Tesla. Personally I see Tesla as particularly vulnerable right now. The OEMs have already undercut Tesla while Tesla burns cash like a drunken Mickey Rourke. As I said before, I think the very high end Turbo is probably safe for now because it's just that much more bonkers in every way. This brings me to my perspective of the whole ICE production going forward. I think it will follow what happened in the watch industry, in that, only the elite mechanical watches survived....Only the elite ICE cars will be produced, that crazy super car, small little sports car with a manual transmission etc will be produced for that visceral experience BEVs or FC cars don't give you.

Try Touareg first. Maybe you will like it and there will be no need to buy another one three times more expensive just because it has a Porsche emblem, bit more leather and some other wistles. ))

Cayenne and GLS are two cars SUV which are pretty beautiful and i would buy GLs (becuase is bigger) if i had had enough money

Factory installed security features are irrelevant. It's the aftermarket solutions you should be looking at.

Wow! I didn't notice that. I looks like a piece of the backseat (basically whatever is the middle left section of the frame). I don't know what's it doing there. Maybe some encoding error? I don't have the original file with me now. When I get back home I'll see it this is just on KZbin, or also on the file I exported from iMovie.

a belhoul Yes! And me, I am actually considering between the two. In my opinion, S is not worth the trouble of driving on premium gas, with higher consumption, and more lag compared to the base model, which felt very good. In a Turbo, you do have compensation for the trouble 😀

Great review, as always. Am I the only bothered by the fact that Marek always refers to cars as if they were persons? Never saying "the" before car name, The Porsche Cayenne, The Jeep Cherokee?

TESLA Model X P100D is faster than this Porsche or than the italian boy. And the tesla is more modern/futuristic and fresh and the Porsche has a really adhorrent image.
