I've done a raiders compatition for my JROTC group and my team took first in co-ed team and we were fourth in the optical course. My school does not have a optical course or any waits to use bc we are broke so we have to work with what we got. I'm very happy with how we did and this was only our second compatition ever. During the optical course we had to flip an 800 pound tire. There were only 5 of us and the tire weighed more then all of us together. It was really hard but I love it and will keep doing it for as long as I can.

I'm actually an Etowah Raider and though i've only been there for a year I know exactly what you guys go through at competitions. We've done most of everything you do except the suspended tire and the mud tunnel. I can say that (no offense to them) you guys did WAY better than our Alpha Team on most obstacles judging by the action in this video. I can tell yall practice each and every obstacle every chance given and definitely take those opportunities very seriously and avoid taking them for granted. Congratulations on your success and heck, if its a possibility we may even train with you sometime. Good luck at competition and hope you make nationals next year! :)

Does AFJROTC do the same thing or are they more academic?
@t.j.riddle97933 жыл бұрын
AFJROTC for my school does both actually. It all depends on what your LDRs are (Leader Development Requirements). We have Raider team for cadets especially for those who don't yet have a specific military branch they prefer, that way they can go ahead and improve athletic ability in case they decide to join Army or Marine Corps in his/her future. On the other hand, if a cadet is already planning on becoming an Air Force pilot for example, he/she should focus more on academics related to Aerospace Science. Either way, academics are still the main focus because its obviously a requirement. Raiders however, remains optional.
