Everyone criticizing this line needs to understand that, you will not be a 100% perfect. The thought is to perfect the show throughout the season up until finals week. Paul Rennick cares about sound quality and how well you play with other people primarily because that’s what judges care about. So for all those who have negative opinions on this line, let their Fred Sandford’s speak for themselves!!!

@@nuclear_reactor5x5 There was some comments earlier like in later 2018 or so that were pretty negative and disrespectful to this group of individuals that worked so hard!!!!

The center snare’s facial expressions crack me up. Looks like a cross between smiling and trying really hard to poop.

Whoever that snare was at 7:43 don't feel bad you're still a lot better than I ever was or will be.

There's an amazing level of uniformity along the line, which is particularly impressive when they play their off beat accent patterns in the drum feature. Amazing stuff. If these guys can clean up the small things lagging behind I think this might go down as one of the greatest percussive performances in DCI.

7:34 We don't have to play it as fast, but this warmup is in our packet (Triplet Roll) and it is really hard
@alex_k7472 жыл бұрын
I stumbled across some sheet music for it, and the patterns are funky at first but once you play it slow and build up the tempo, it's not bad

Check out Troop this year and tell me if you see the Rennick in them. Their line (tough the corps is around 16th) has a lot of clarity too! X= X= X=

I remember coming out of CA and hitting Corps Encore in UT, then Drums Along the Rockies in CO. As a horn player, the altitude change was rough.

I’m going to attend DCI Southwest Championships in San Antonio this weekend and want to catch these guys in rehearsal and/or warmups. Anyone know what their schedule will be like?

@@CommentCorrector The technique used is what produces that quality of sound. Looking at SCV's line, you can see that throughout each sub-section, the technique is the exact same; tacet hands are at the same level, stick heights are the same (not exactly, considering the fact that each performer is not the same height, but in respect to the height of the stick off the drum), every member is throwing the stick through the drum and not just to the drum head (which allows them to produce a louder sound and a fuller tone), etc. The point is that SCV has a world class drumline, and their technique has to be crazy good or else they wouldn't get the high scores they usually receive
@michaell.89386 жыл бұрын
They could be tighter. Someone in the snare line is lagging.
