I might do this with my truck.. was going to put a magnaflow glasspack where the muffler is, but I think il just put a pipe there instead. PS. AFM is the number one thing I hate about my truck. Not only does it feel like something is going to break sometimes when engaging and disengaging sometimes, I literally saw no difference in average mileage with AFM on or off. Another thing I noticed too is with AFM off, I have almost no oil consumption between oil changes.

Old comment but I installed a Range AFM disabler and it works wonders, sadly you have to keep it plugged into your obd the whole time so I might get a CTS3

Now turn turn off the AFM system and delete the resonator. The AFM system really doesn't save you gas like you think. My gas mileage actually improved by 2 miles per gallon by turning off the AFM system.

vikkleo buy a range fam Disabler and buy it from them only, dnt buy from amazon or other sites they are not authorize dealers. You’ll save yourself from spending on fixing your lifters down the line and you truck will be very happy. I’ve been running range and disabled on my 14 sold it and bought me a 18 and has been on it since day 1.

Easy, cheap way to disable AFM is to put trans in manual mode and shift it to 5th and leave it there. It will up/downshift as normal but won’t go above 5th. Stays in V-8 mode. It’s all the gears I need for 95% of my driving. On the interstate I don’t really care if it disables cylinders anyway.

2 questions does this void your exhaust warranty if you stay behind the O2 sensors and does it make any lights pop up on the dash?

To answer both it's no. No warranty covers your exhaust except for the catalytic converter and o2 sensors. By deleting the muffler it's does not throw a code. If the cats were deleted then yes a code will come up because the O2 sensors can't read the proper flow.

@armyguy63bravo I would deactivate the afm system and keep it V8. I did it and so did my buddy and there is no difference in fuel economy except I gain 2 miles per gallon by keeping it in v8 all the time

Yeah only difference the GMT900 had was no AFM or resonator.

Did you leave the flapper? Do you find AFM behaves differently afterward? I did my muffler delete and found AFM to not go in and out as much for some reason. Could be my imagination too.

Not a bad sound. Maybe if thinking of doing that on my 2017 Chevy Silverado. If I do the cold air intake and throttle body spacer will that void my warranty also?

Not if a Chevy mechanic put it on but ask a few questions about the cold air and if you do put one on but also put a 1/4 body spacer on too

Air Raid Jr kit is all you need. Truck already draws cold air. Keep the stock box and do the air box mod to it. TB spacer does NOTHING save your money.
