Omg was he always this muscular?? I never noticed 😂 Or is he in that stage of life I call the Thoroughbred Dad Bod™️ that all the boys go through when they’ve been off the track for a couple years and they finally start to fill out and build muscle in other places and become well balanced and turn into a completely different horse lol He looks fantastic!

Looks to me like, Sharpie tends to run with his head low and you really have to prepare him before the jump. IE get his head up and on the jump. Or is that my imagination Elise Wallace Eventing?Very nice cross country and dressage with him though.

He didn’t get his proper warm up( due to scheduling conflicts) so he wasn’t soft and he doesn’t really respect the fences if they are low and plain :/ he’s not the easiest to showjump and sometimes can be a struggle for him if he hasn’t schooled his grid work prior.

Excellent muscle development, vast improvements in bascule over fences; wants to lug but recovers and rocks back much easier now. Are you doing bounces in gymnastics? Too bad about all the rails in sj.

Lovely horse a d amazingly trained. I m struggling with teaching my horse to have a steady contact. My trainer told me to realese the pressure when he has the right position and contact, but when I do he return to a normal high position. Do you work constantly with your hands in dressage? Thank you

Cristina Valenta What I find that works with my horses is when you release the pressure you sorta slightly open and close your ring and middle finger changing hands each time, just playing with the bit, while still pushing them into to steady contact

Here's what helps with my horse! You keep your arms at an angle next to your body and have a steady contact and ask him to go down while keeping him awake with your legs. Leg leg leg until he drops his head. Once he does, keep the same contact with your fingers but release pressure in your elbows. Still keep them at an angle and at the right place. Hope this helps!

is your horse new to dressage/ working on an outline? If so lunging with a training aid can help to build topline and teach pressure and release. The one stephanie prince uses is good for stretching and something like a pessoa is slightly more advanced.

Also when riding a release shouldn’t have to be massive because the contact shouldn’t be uncomfortable. If you do little sponges on the reins stop squeezing when the horse frames up or loosen your fingers around the reins a little:))
