Great to see British engineering and a dedicated group of enthusiastic people who own and obviously enjoyed the runs out their clubs are putting together so many various engine sizes and power outputs wonderful cars

There are fewer and fewer examples of British engineering on the roads and its great to be able to enjoy a run with other enthusiasts. Sorry for the late reply but didn't realise until a couple of days ago that KZbin changed their policy and blocked comments on this video.

Now there’s a blast from the past... I have a very clear memory of you and TimH with me in that car driving down the Bristol road in Birmingham 35 years ago! That’s probably the biggest scare though... 35 years! I also remember the prototype Sierra Sapphire I think it was with a laptop plugged into the suspension management system!

IIRC (US) Car&Driver magazine ran a picture of a (pre-Super) Seven driver looking anxious about the back end of a sheep almost over the car's seat. Looks as through you would have had sheep all over anywhere, instead. Yikes! Horse back end? Don't want to think about it. >:p Did I see you and (I assume) Mrs. driving along, wearing intercom headsets? Thought "and why not today?" Comment?

Hi Richard, unfortunately the car is sat in the garage needing an MOT at the moment, so wasn’t us out and about. Should have the MOT sorted in a couple of weeks though. Sheep are a pain in any car but in a Seven that could be disastrous! Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Hi Paul, its an SV. It gives me more room for my feet, bum, fuel and boot (luggage/trunk). Not everyone agrees that’s the right choice, but it was for me.

Really enjoyed your Caterham fish 'n' chip day out on those lovely Welsh roads...surely made for 7's! Can't seem to make my mind up whether to buy a 620 s or an Atom 4! I love the styling of both & they are so different but each has its charm...maybe a 620 with an Ariel Nomad for off-roading - is there any off-roading in Britain? I live in Sussex & we have some beautiful countryside with the Sussex Downs & Wealden lanes. I used to think I would buy a Mclaren but I reckon I would have more fun with these light weight British classics & maybe a Merc Cab for wifey!

Thanks for the comment... for me the Caterham wins every time. It has more practicality than an Atom (though that's clearly a relative thing) but also not into the crazy prices of some of the more exotic super/hyper cars available. You also have to factor in the "special" sense of getting a big grin and thumbs up from everyone you see. That's certainly not my experience with other exocita - where you're as likely to get called something rather less positive!

The Caterham would look more at home on the Sussex lanes that I frequent than the Atom...& with storage space & even roof capability would seem more practical...but that Atom, which I saw at Goodwood Festival of Speed & at Beauliue 'Supercar Weekend, was pretty special - if not entirely different in style concept. I guess the Caterham wins it on retro looks & practicality but if you want your own formula 1 fantasy it has to be an Atom - or the much more expensive BAC Mono...but alas, one seaters are not an option for me!

Had both, and I would have the 620 but you might want to try the S and the R as the R can be tiring with the Sadev. Atom is huge fun but I never got the predicability of the handing you get in the Caterham. Performance wise they are on par with each other

Hey Jim, the guys at Crawley Caterham will hopefully be getting a 620s for me to look at in the next few weeks...I am in touch with a chap called Lee Fog, who works there & is seems keen to show me around. I certainly would not consider putting a deposit on a 620 for next Summer delivery until they have one in stock I can look at. I hope in the meantime we see plenty more videos of 620's on UTube to keep folk like me (potential buyers) interested........
