This was a well produced and interesting (although we knew all the automatic qualifiers.) - The best moment, Ernie and the crowd trying crappy Pizza Hut pizza, and he asks them “how was it” and crowd groans in utter disgust. Then Charles Barkley says “Well, it’s hard to screw up pizza.” I was dying laughing. Pizza Hut probably paid $20 Million to endorse this tournament!

NC State (under a different coach) gave Kansas a tussle in the 2012 Sweet 16 while Seton Hall (coached by another Pitino assistant like NC State) defeated Big 12's Texas Tech on a neutral court. #5 Clemson/#12 New Mexico St, #4 Auburn/#13 Charleston (San Diego, CA) - Clemson and Auburn were set to meet each other months before, but didn't as Temple defeated both teams on a neutral court. #6 TCU/#11 Syracuse, #3 Michigan St/#14 Bucknell (Detroit, MI) - Jamie Dixon and Jim Boeheim used to be fierce Big East competitors, and a decade ago Dixon and Izzo faced each other in Denver which Michigan St prevailed in a dogfight. Syracuse had not faced Michigan St since 2010 when the Orange defeated the then ranked Spartans until they had a rough descent. #7 Rhode Island/#10 Oklahoma, #2 Duke/#15 Iona (Pittsburgh, PA) - Rhode Island faced Duke in Uncasville, CT the previous season. 33:10 - of course a CREIGHTON director is claiming it was "clear cut" between UVA and Nova who was the overall #1 seed. Well, in the end, we saw how great UVA (lost in the 1st rd) was and how great Nova was (won the chip).

What a joke of a " selection show"!! They turned this into basically the Oscar"s with the live audience. And there is really no suspense with revealing the entire field before the seeds. It was more dramatic and suspenseful when they would announce the field bracket by bracket.

However, that grinding style caught up with them like it did with Georgetown (lost to FGCU). Creighton/Kansas St was a clash between offense and defense #5 Kentucky/#12 Davidson, #4 Arizona/#13 Buffalo (Boise, ID) - A lot of folks wanted Pittsburgh-bred coaches John Calipari and Sean Miller (both who have known each other many years) to meet because of the size, athleticism and talent of both teams. #6 Miami (FL)/#11 Loyola-Chicago, #3 Tennessee/#14 Wright St (Dallas, TX) - Loyola-Chicago stunned Florida in Gainesville, thus were matched up with another Florida school and eventually another SEC team. Rick Barnes, when he was at Texas in 2005-06 spent the first weekend of March in Dallas (lost in OT to #4 LSU in the Elite 8) #7 Nevada vs. #10 Texas, #2 Cincinnati vs. #15 Georgia St (Nashville, TN) - In 2012, Cincinnati was a #6 seed and defeated both Texas and Florida St in Nashville on their way to the Sweet 16. Bearcats also defeated SEC's Mississippi St.

I’m not a Villanova fan, but that was one of the best tournaments I’ve seen. There were huge upsets, buzzer beaters, a Cinderella run, crazy games, etc.
