12v Power Access sockets? Are there any and where located? I’ve spent years acquiring certain accessories such as a coolbox for easily perishable goods (fresh milk, insulin) and live in a hot climate.

Unfortunately, I didn't see any 12v power outlets. Well, a cool box is convenient to have as well for hot climates
@IQneg5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Lukas. I’ve been told to check out the centra console as Toyota sometimes hide a socket there. There are many accessories that use the socket and many people who need them, particularly for long journeys. All cars had them in the past, euphemistically called cigarette lighters. They also used to supply little drawers for toll gate coins (ashtrays). Far more convenient than trying to reach a trouser pocket when belted in and an impatient entourage. :)

why is the fuel economy so awful i'd like to know, plus the engine literally screams climbing hills here in the village i live in south wales uk. any tips would be grateful
@lukasautomotiveawesomeness15365 жыл бұрын
Um, fuel economy is good, which is expected as it's a hybrid. I'm sure the screaming engine is probably normal on hills. The hills will definitely also be a reason as to why your fuel economy is worse. I can't say anything else to that as this is the only C-HR that I have had the chance to look at

I just test drove one today - it seemed to have less acceleration (definitely more noise, less oomph from a start) than the Prius LE (both new 2019's), it was more miserable to get in and out of (about 29.5 inches top-of-seat to bottom-of-door-sill), and it rode over the roads rougher than the Prius. So... I took that same tape measure to the Corolla and the Camry. The Camry was the absolute worst for ingress/egress, especially for anyone who gets in and out of their vehicle a few times each day, and for anyone trying to avoid back pain. The Corolla was about 29 inches, and the Camry seemed like it was just under 29 inches. Meanwhile, surprisingly, the Prius was 32 inches. Still not 'ideal' for people of average height, but certainly easier to live with than the severely-curved-down roof-lines that lead to short entryways. I found this really disappointing because the C-HR is sort of advertised as a cross-over or a smaller SUV. It did have that extra little bit of storage in the trunk area, under the mat, that would have been easier to live with than the Prius, so that was good. Perhaps such a low HP vehicle as the CH-R doesn't need such sporty, low profile and wide tires? Sure, sure, it has the look - but the sidewalls on those tires kill the ride quality that the teeny tires on the Prius seemed to give. I'm going to give the Prius another test drive tomorrow to really see what's up, but it was a far more comfortable car than the CH-R. CH-R only absolutely beat the Prius in the interior/exterior design and the LCD display. (The Prius interior still thinks that it is 2011, and that CD players are what are needed - while no option for satellite radio could be found for the mid-level models)

Please keep in mind that this 50% increase in range they falsely advertise, does not mean that regenerative braking will give an 50% range increase! This isn’t going to bump your range from 100 miles to 150 miles. This simply means that 50% of the kinetic energy lost during the act of braking can be turned back into acceleration later. It is important to realize that on its own, regenerative braking isn’t a magical range booster for Hybrid vehicles. It doesn’t make Hybrid vehicles more efficient per set, it just makes them less inefficient. Realistically, Regen in Hybrid will boost up to 5% increase in range only in rural areas and Not in motorways. In highways regen gives you No boost in range at all! Too expensive too!!!

i own a 2019 c-hr gle. it is the most utterly piece of crap. after 2 years of ownership and 40k miles it makes me wish i had bought a yugo! spacious: somewhat good mileage?? not in the least. my 1990 suzuki samurai gave 45/50 miles to the gallon. battery is out in less than 2 years, so were the tires which lasted about 38k miles. noises from low workmanship. it has them all. currently, in slow turns, the steering system cracks, rattles and moans constantly. and then there is the ever bubbling sound after it gets warmed up. what did the dealership service department say all and every time i took the car for inspection? they said that there was nothing wrong with the car. a yugo's the way to go. suspension. it bottoms up every time with the slightest depression on the road. the front absorbers (struts or rubber bands or whatever they use to deal with this) is so horrendous and the japanese mechanic at the dealership says there is nothing wrong with the suspension. a yugo is the way to go! i am telling you guys and gals, save yourselves the aggravation of a great looking piece of crap and buy yourselves a yugo!! the 80's and 90's yugo that is!
