Toyota Rush, Xpander, and BRV they are made for affordability. Yes mahihirapan talaga sa uphills yan lalo na kung madami sakay pero ang purpose niya is not for power but for affordability. In terms of overtaking, just don’t try if you have full load. The road isn’t a race track especially city drivings. If you want power go with the fortuner or other bigger SUVs. You gotta give credit to these companies giving the consumers what they need for an affordable price. And not to mention a 3rd world country like ours having modern and luxurious interior ain’t bad. So in conclusion to that I think this will be a great vehicle for its price! Btw love your videos sir Patrick! 👍🏻 nice job

Mauli Ako it cost around 900k for base models 1M top of the line but the thing for jeepneys is that you don’t have your own personal space and you can’t really bargain for a 7-seater for much less. They just gave us an option eg. Toyota fortuner costs 1.6M(base model) 32k a month 5 years while toyota rush costs 1M 19k 5years a month see the difference? And if you want more details go to a dealer I’m just a kid trying to appreciate those companies on what they’re doing 😂😂😂 hahaa peace

after i watched the xpander vs Rush crash test, moose test and ect. masasabi ko talaga na mas safe ang rush in terms of safety features. yun nmn talaga mahalaga. evaluation ng Asian Ncap is Xpander 4 star ratings and Rush 5 star ratings sa test. 👍

I drove my friend's Avanza 2017 G variant with fully loaded passengers. I gotta say that it drives okay. Hindi naman nahirapan sa pag overtake and sa mga uphill. Maingay lang ang engine. I wonder how the rush drives on a full load as well. And I like the design and overall features of this car. 😍

For some people who are saying this is underpowered for a 7 seater dont buy it. as simple as that. It is designed for 7 HEALTHY PHYSICALLY FIT people inside. not for a 7 OBESE people which i think you are. just kiddin. ang gas consumption naman eh naka dipende sa DRIVING HABBITS and ego mo yan eh. if you need torque habang may anim kang pasahero mag grandia ka nlng or innova. thats why there are variants. there is no such thing as "the best SUV or car" out there, every product has its own purpose that fits every need of the consumer. and again, if u think this is underpowered, dont buy it. lalo na kung gusto mong kumarera sa kalsada habang may anim kang pasahero. Gustong gusto nila ng 6spd nuon nmn 4spd and 5spd manual lng nmn tlaga. NAGLABASAN lng mga SUVs like MONTERO.FORTUNER AND EVEREST na may 4x4 and 6 to 10spd na nagrereklamo na kayo na mahina power nitong Rush and Xpander. Hndi nmn po e2 para s mga sanay n s mbilisan e2 po ay for affordability. Kaya kung hanap nyo 6 TO 10SPD wag nyo tgnan mga gnto dun kayo s BIG SUVs.

Mid size engines will always be perceived as "underpowered". When you install an engine above 1.6l, the unit price will increase exponentially as well as fuel consumption. Then people complain . . .

Much better settle for the manuel transmission since it is 5 speed compared to the automatic a 4 speed. It is a mini suv - with its engine displacement design for its size ... its is a mini suv & a family vehicle purpose ... not a 2.5 or 2.6 van or standard SUV ..

I have been a manuel driver eversince ... something i observed among car dealers these days is that manuel transmission are line up on the lower catergory while the high end units are automatic ... while manuel users end up on the lower end without these great features .... honestly speaking manuel has greater advantages over matic - fuel efficient or greater mileage, better acceleration, low maintenance cost & higher resale value....not to mention the road & weather condition in our country ma-gastos ang matic pag nasira. I hope car manufacturers will produce the same level with matic on manuel or V series.... enough Sales Talk and Get Real !!!! ...

In my country this model is the lowest trim. The highest trim is TRD Sportivo which has add-on body kits and 17 inch alloy wheels, extra glove box, 8 speakers front and rear and some more extra extras....which I do own one.

@Earl Matthew Avila Because it uses the engine of the Avanza, Vios, and Yaris. Avanza and Rush uses RWD setup, while Vios and Yaris uses FWD setup. Edit: My mistake, Avanza and Rush uses different engine. It uses 1NR-VE (Avanza only) and 2NR-VE engine, while the Vios and Yaris uses 1NR-FE and 2NR-FE engine.

Really nice review there Patrick 👍. I came across your video after seeing this model from another youtuber. I was shocked the first time I saw its price tag. Now, knowing that this is an entry-level SUV from Toyota, no wonder the price 😊. Toyota has really thought out of using cheaper materials, just to compete with its competitors. The exterior draw my attention. I thought it was a Fortuner with a lower trim. Now if I where to choose from a Fortuner (basic) and the Rush's top trim model, which do you recommend? Math Simon no sir...you can read reviews from top gear for the xpander...it makes 23L/km on eco mode!...rush not so sure butz I have read it makes 13km/L on mix driving...so xpander has a better 1.5L engine in terms of fuel economy!

For me, when i look at Toyota rush 2018, It's like a modern bulldog in outer design (nice-modern), but when I look at the outer design of Mitsubishi expander 2018 (much nicer-more modern), its like Transformers for me. my opinion only

next time show road test in full occupied seat, to see the power of engine specially in uphill, the fuel consumed in km/ltr. the interior/exterior design is good but the spare tire designed in outside for me is not good because of corrosion in a long run if you forgot to checked.

honda mobilio has the same engine of BRV, anyway i have BRV and i will say your right is not under powered with 1.5L engine ive tried with 8 person and 2 child in very stiff road in bataan going up to big cross.

Avanza is not underpower because it has rear wheel drive which is good in uphill like baguio or batangas because the rear wheel has to push the car unlike ertiga, xpander, mobilio and brv which is weak in uphill because they have all front wheel drive which is weak in uphill. Avanza has a good engine and rear wheel drive so you are wrong. Front wheel drive is underpower and also front wheel drive is cheaper to produce unlike rear wheel drive you ignorant. I have avanza and its not underpower even at full load

This isn't made for speeds. This were made for accommodating 7 passengers with modern features under the 1 million or just around the 1 million mark. If they increased the engine displacement, the price would also increase and therefore would not sell to the local market. Besides, displacement isn't everything now a days. a 1.5 engine of a jazz 2015 could easily beat a 2.0 ford focus 2005.

PatrickReyesTV I know what you mean.. But the power to weight ratio is not good for overtaking hence kinda dangerous.. Yes speed is not everything, but torque is much more important with this kind of vehicle.. they could of atleast give 2.0 liter engine option..

Good idea for the 2.0 Engine option. The only thing I think that Toyota hindered from them to do this is, that the price might go up to 200-300k pesos for adding the 2.0 engine option, and with that, the fortuner is just a few steps away.

Ganda kaso i dont like that white armrest. I will wait for the actual driving review of the Rush, im a bit in doubt of that 1.5 engine @6000 rpm i feel u need to rev it too hard to get the power you need especially if inclined climb.
