The folks from Vanderhall definitely have a cool product. It has an awesome vintage vibe, modern hardware and the price is commensurate with its design and build quality. Granted, it costs about ten grand more than the Slingshot, but it looks it. It's a shame they don't offer a clutch manual, but the automatic seems to find more appeal with potential buyers. Frankly, I'd be more interested in the Edison2 electric model...four second 0-60mph that close to the ground? Whew!!

Nice vid! I've been looking at getting a Vanderhall for a few months now... Never liked the slingshot myself and would prefer a Morgan but like the Vanderhall price a lot more than the Morgan! Might just have to bite that bullet soon! Who's remix of "Please don't talk about me when I'm gone" is that? Tried using Shazam but it only pulls up the original song...

I've been seriously looking into getting either a Morgan or a Vanderhall. I'm not interested in the Slingshot because I'm not a blind 12 year old boy. The Morgan is the coolest by a mile, without a doubt, but the Vanderall is much less likely to kill you and leave you stranded.

Your camera work needs help. When I see a video and someone is knocking the camera around in the first few seconds, it really makes me not want to keep watching. You really gotta stop knocking the hell out of your camera (or making noise by handling it) and then not editing it out. Edit those out, or be more precise with your movements. Good topic though, and it's nice to see these two vehicles side by side. Work on your cinematography and you'll get more subs and views.

That Sling shot is Very Ugly the Vanderhal is so much better there's No contest. The optional, ratchet manual shifter is much better than the version in the video. I don't like the Flapping of the Front Fenders on the Slingshot while driving, feels cheap, like its going come apart while driving.

When was a front wheel drive/automatic more fun than a rear wheel drive/5-speed manual. Never! Nothing cost $20,000 base that gets as many looks as a Slingshot. I have been out there and seen public opinion. Me and my buddies have Slingshots. We all think the Vanderhall is kinda small somewhat feminine. The turbo is the best point. The Slingshot has the ability to be customized to be what you want. Vanderhall does not have the after market support. It's build quality is better though.

lets line them up on a quarter mile, you'll feel pretty feminine staring at my vanderhall taillights. The vanderhall will smoke a slingshot every time. Its not even that close, which is surprising cuz the slingshot only weighs a couple hundred pounds more, and only puts out about 7 less horsepower. But...polaris touched it, so it already has that going against it.

@@JonathanLong no, but you can purchase a brand new slingshot for 10k cheaper than a vanderhall . Add a supercharger or turbo to the slingshot and you will still come out cheaper and faster!

@mikehudson, I’ve driven both and I must say the Slingshot drove me nuts. I have an Indian Chieftain with much of the same electronics and I went in somewhat favorably biased. TheSlingshot I drove was decked out and no ten grand cheaper than the VDH. The angle of the info screen made it impossible to read at midday and that with a roof on. The stereo seemed nice enough but the bearing/gear noise from the bevel gear that turns trans shaft rotation 90* to the belt drive rotation made the stereo useless above about 35 mph and was generally just unpleasant at any speed. Handled nice enough, but so did the VDH. About the same power per butt dyno. Given that the VDH had a more subtle look vs the garish body on the Slingshot had me balance in favor of the VDH. There are aftermarket parts available that will get you up over 300 hp if that’s your gig. Lastly, the it’s-a-more- feminine-rig ploy is the difference between insecure boys and discerning grown ups.

The Truth Hurts That's subjective... To me the Slingshot looks like a carnival ride car, design was way overdone. Vanderhall's design is a lot cleaner, and you can't beat the sound of that Turbo.

I own a slingshot. Yes the bodywork is plastic. It’s still a steel chassis. Bodywork was done to save weight. It’s 1,700lbs curb weight ready to drive.

Slingshots are designed to fall within the inbetween Car and Motorcycle category. It's an autocycle. Most states require then to be under a certain weight. Which is about 1750lbs. If not within that spec before it is sold (e.g. delivered from the oem) then they have to go back to the drawing board. (So to speak) The plastic you speak of is a high grade ABS material that is also light weight. Same shit on sport bikes but higher quality. The drive train in the ss is from the cobalt, solstice, saturn sky. It is a proven gm motor.. I would like the reliability myself. Its sits 4 inches wider than most corvettes and provides excellent cornering and handling for those nice twisty roads. Unless your going down them sideways..... I will admit, they could step up the paint quality. Who ever buffs them from the factory must be blind.

Yeah but the Slingshot is 6 feet wide! I love the smaller size of the Vanderhall. The Slingshot also has terrrrible brakes and that single rear drive wheel is terrible in the wet. Front wheel drive makes way more sense for a three-wheeled autocycle.
