Polaris Slingshot vs Vanderhall Venice - Head to Head Test Drive / The Tire Garage TV Ep7

Today is a little different. Today we visit Del Amo Motorsports in Santa Ana, California. I took a test drive on the Vanderhall Venice and the Polaris Slingshot. Both these autocycles spiked my interest, so, I want to get one. Which one though??? Lets go drive them.

Vanderhall kills the slingshot on looks alone. The slingshot looks ghetto fabulous where the Vanderhall looks super classy.

I know I'm way late to this party, but glad you put this up! I'm also not skinny and it was helpful perspective to be able to see you get in and out of both and what seating position was like! If you haven't pulled the trigger, take a look at a new Vanderhall Carmel. A little wider and with doors and an available sorta-roof, so much easier to get in and out of. It's still not as roomy as the Slingshot, but much improved. My wife and I after finally being able to sit in one decided to go with the Carmel and just use it as motivation to keep losing weight and staying healthy. Pray for us. We like food. lol But yeah, the Carmel was comfortable for us and we could get in and out easily and weren't super cramped like a Venice. Overall though, the Vanderhall just seems more our style than the Slingshot. They both are fun and I think you're right, you couldn't go too wrong with either one. It's more about preference for the pros and cons of each one than anything else.

If you have to wear a helmet in the Slingshot - you would also have to wear it in the Vanderhall. They are both motorcycles. In KY the Slingshot is an Autocycle and no helmet is required.

I know.. I think the same but the place didn't make me wear it for the Vanderhall.. yet they did for the Slingshot.. idk

Same in Indiana. No helmet. When i travel out of Indiana I always wear my helmet.

@@thetiregaragetv Think this has something to do with the windshield in the Vanderhall. I'd still suggest wearing at least goggles on the Vanderhall.

With regard to the helmet, it entirely depends on the state. I'm a Vanderhall owner in Utah, where they are made. I don't have to wear a helmet or have a motorcycle endorsement on my license. In the end, I am in love with how sexy and sleek the Vanderhall is, and I can also appreciate the higher horsepower, torque, turbo, sound, front-wheel drive, and the fact that anyone who knows how to work on a Chevy engine can work on my Vanderhall.

Nice video. The Slingshot is rear-wheel drive. The Vanderhall Venice is front-wheel drive. The Slingshot is a 2.4 naturally aspirated ecotec with manual transmission. The Vanderhall is a 1.4 turbocharged ecotec with automatic transmission with the option to add a manual bump shifter. Having owned both, I have MUCH more fun driving the Vanderhall. I don’t miss the Slingshot one bit. You might want to give the Vanderhall Speedster a try, but your girlfriend will have to sit on your lap. 😂 Great job! 👍🏼 Looking forward to your next video. 😀

Ed Grant He’s a big guy so I see why he’s picking the slingshot for comfort. But the driving experience and I’ve driven both, the Vanderhall blows the Slingshot away. The breaking, acceleration, sound and it drives much more refined. Slingshot looks like a plastic Batmobile versus the Vanderhall looking like a retro roadster.

Appreciate it my man!!! Yea that's why I'm leaning for the Slingshot, I just fit more comfortable in it. The Venice is my preferred though.. I love the sexy lines and classic style.. hard to pick.

I did research on both but ended up buying a Vanderhall. Upon driving the Vanderhall I was blown away. Plus is made in the USA in Utah! The Vanderhall all around is a better value plus you get F1 style suspension, turbo, way more class in the look (doesn't look like a batmobile), and when test driving mine, the bump shifter made all the difference. The funny thing is it seems like when you get a slingshot owner next to a Vanderhall owner, usually a race happends, and the slingshot loses..lol

Nice honest video. I as well have rode both models. Yes the stick shift makes it more sporty than a automatic. Although they do have Patel shifter for the automatic as well. As fare as a turbo, you can add one to the slingshot and then kick some serious ass. Front wheel drive vs. rear wheel drive. What it comes down to is your preference and style. They are both great products.

I couldn't fit in the Vanderhall to much muscle. Been driving slingshot for two years. Awesome ride. My wife and I do over night trips everywhere.

I'm back with a change of mind. I sold my 2021 Slingshot R and bought a Vanderhall Carmel GTS and love it. The build quality is mush better on the Vanderhall, but for people that are over 6ft. And over 225 lbs get a Slingshot

Go try the Vanderhall Carmel - 5" wider inside. Paddle shifters. About 1/2 the turning radius. Slingshots are belt-drive rear single wheel drive. Enough said.

I see slingshots everywhere. Vanderhall a couple times a year. Don’t know if it’s the price or what. Not enough room for me. So I got the SLR slingshot

I own the exact polaris model you drove. I love my slingshot and it has the more aggressive and sexy look between the two. I plan to also own a vanderhall in two years time once the electric version is out and proven. I know the vanderhall will give me a very fun ride (because it's so low to the ground) but a different experience than the sling. You can't go wrong with either one. I have a bias towards electric so to be frank if Vanderhall didn't have that coming I would be happy with the sling only. I don't get why the fanbois of either autocycle has to bash the other. They are both very cool and headturning.

How come you have to wear a helmet with one and not both.?? If I had one of these I'd put a trike (conversion) in the back so it'd be a small 4 wheeled street runner.

I definitely will go for the Vanderhall Venice because the feeling of driving would be different from normal cars like Polaris Slingshot. I think I'm not looking for the space or conform because I already have it with normal cars. I'm looking for wild adrenaline and the feeling that I will get in Vandehall Venice.

I rented the 2021 slingshot auto. I loved it. Hated the delay in shifting. Wish it was a little faster. Then I rented a 2017 vanderhall Venice. I Hated the speed. And how narrow it is. Small mirrors. No storage. I loved the turbo blowoff sounds. I liked I could look over my shoulder and see unlike the slingshot. It's a tough decision. They both hard to find instock now too.

The Vanderhall is way to narrow and no storage. The Slingshot has at least a little storage, some come with a super charger,you can add luggage racks even a trailer. And for her hair with a helmet. Leave het at home. More fun with out her.lol. I'm from Indiana no helmets needed her. Get a Slingshot, you will love it bro

Vanderhall does have storage behind the seats and there are 2 or 3 different after-market luggage racks for it as well.

They both seem very much interesting in comparison between Vanderhall vs. Polaris Venus Slingshot Don't own either one of these models, "but I definitely have a vision on making the right decision in selection between these two Autocycles and getting the most out of my choice altogether"!!!! Since the market is still brand "new" with these two models, "I definitely will look into inventing my own production and version in the near future *(GOD WILLING)* that is overall, *(Competitive)* (P.S.)Thanks for the test drive referral on testing these models.

I got the “Bumpshift on the Vanderhall !! I am 6’3” also !! BUT 220 ! In n out for me is easier. The windshield I wish WUZ 6” taller ! I have to stretch up or lean down ! 😔 Also I wish mirrors n taillights were larger ! I am SHoppIN for alternates ! If I got in a crash ? Vanderhall all da way !! All are Coffin looking !😂🤣😔😔

My guess is that with no weight to speak of in back, he just spins his tire faster while checking out the VDH taillights. See the Saimah comparo race on YT. The guy in the Slinger couldn’t keep his wheel locked on the pavement to save his life. A second wash up vid explains.
