Can we still do hardware PsyTrance the way the old Goa Gods used to ? Of course we can ! Thanks to Elektron and Roland for this little evening jam. Nothing very exceptional here, single pattern, but good fun for sure.

Love the vid ,I've been trying to get similar psych trance fx on my korg minilogue like u see on these free online ones like serum ,I've got a electribe 2 sampler and looper boss and the 1 of best roland aira bass line ,I've succeeded with the saw effect but wonder if I should program more on my minilogue or use the tb3 aira roland for the fx like infected mushroom, my sounds broke on my PC u see .

So awesome sounding, I'm in the process of learning how to produce my own PsyTrance music in my small studio room in my flat, I'm mainly using FL Studio 20, my main Daw, but I'm buying a second-hand Ableton Push on layby, it's in good condition though, and everything is in the box, also using Ableton Live 9.7 Standard ( will be upgrading to 10 soon), Reaper, Reason 10, and Sundog Song Studio.....please keep the videos coming and cheers!!!!!

@@elliottsilverman7931 Still working on it, finding it a pretty steep learning-curve, oh yeah, I finally managed to buy the Ableton Push 1 I saw in my local cash converters shop last year, also managed to get the Live 10 upgrade as well, I do master my own tracks before I upload them to my soundcloud account, lately I've been going through some writer's-block.

The Elektrons can Do the stuff you want them to do - I ve made DNB and Darkpsy, sounding hugely different, but with the same Machines. Monomachine is the best of all my purchases ever so far. 6 yrs. and still all the Fun. Whereas I found to be stuck with Trance using an Access Virus, no matter which. They are good but limit you to Sound like Infected Mushroom.

For psytrance what's the best bass line count 1-16 I'm using a Roland JD-XI one time I just lite all 16 pads up it gave it that drive
@simonkormendy8494 жыл бұрын
Basslines in PsyTrance are usually 1/16th notes, if you skip the notes that land on beats 1, 5, 9, and 13, that helps the Bassline sit better with the Kick drum.

Thanks ! and absolutely Sam, the only thing you'll need a really basic sampler for the drums. Everything, including that psytrance bassline can be done on the Virus with the multiparts. If you want to go full hardware sequencing, you could use a RS7000 (That could also be your sampler), RM1X, or any other hardware sequencer ! TB3 on its way here too... looking forward.
@1samwhich4 жыл бұрын
@@StephaneGervaisMusic Awesome, thanks for your response and advice. I'll do some more research on those Samplers and Sequencers then to get my head around them and how they could fit in my set-up. Funny thing is I sold a Yamaha RM1X a few years back because I didn't know it's capabilities and thought it was too clunky and dated sounding haha.

Cool jam! What hardware do you need first to start making something like this?
@StephaneGervaisMusic5 жыл бұрын
A computer with plugins is still the best way but hardware speaking, if I had to keep it at bare minimum... I'd go with a sampler for the drums and fx (Akai ?) and a good virtual analog (System 1m perhaps?)... If budget is no issue : this Octatrack, Analog Four, TB03 and VirusTI is a killer combo.
@StephaneGervaisMusic5 жыл бұрын
But after listening to your tracks I'd say you already have all you need to do great Goa mate ! :)

@@StephaneGervaisMusic Okay cool, thank you! Yes, computer with plugins is nice but I'd like to have something more physical at hand to play around with. - Sampler for drums (which one can you recommend?) - Sampler FX (Akai) - Good virtual analog (System 1m) High-budget: - Octatrack - Analog Four - TB03 - VIrusTI Cool thanks dude!

@@StephaneGervaisMusic For me, it sounds like a fusion of early Goa Trance and later PsyTrance, what we now know as PsyTrance is a style of electronic music that evolved from Goa Trance so they are basically sister-genres.

Not bad of a track. Analog is thousands of years ahead of digital sounds. Which sucks as digital is easier to save configurations. Oh well.
