2019 2020 2021 RAV4 and Prime Cargo Trunk LED Lights - Installation and Review

In this video I install a set of LED lights in the cargo/trunk area of my 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime SE. Watch as I show you step by step how to install all the pieces.

Nice video and good instructions. I also have to commend you that this is really the first video where the owner also has a nice tidy trunk, and also the plastics in the trunk are not all scratched up. Thanks! haha, the car was practically brand new hence the clean trunk and plastic! I have some scuffs and scrapes on the plastic now. Congrats on getting yours!

@@PhilsDIY Hi, I ordered a RAV4 Prime (PHEV) in exactly the same colour as yours. I want to ask you if you have registered information about a problem called "RAV4 cablegate" where corrosion occurs at the end of the high voltage cable leading to the rear electric motor. Have you looked at the condition of this high voltage cable termination on your car? Have a nice day.

@@PhilsDIY no apologies needed. I was just using sarcasm to give some constructive feedback. The toughest part was getting the wiring through the rubber tubing and you seem to have skipped showing it all together. It's a good tutorial overall for people familiar working on taking apart their rav4's. But it's not the most clear for complete beginners.

Did you have to lube the wire to get it through the rubber boot and tube. Left side better than right??

I did use wire pulling lube, but i don't think it's critical. I just happen to have some so I used it i went through thr left one, only because it looked bigger, and less likely to be a problem.

Confused why it first shows the fishing wire going in the right rubber boot though?

If accidentally touch the little light on the right side of the trunk and it blows out and doesn't light up(I think fuse), do you know what to check?

I would check the fuse block under the driver side dash. You'll need a light and crawl under there to look for a blown fuse. If you can't physically see the blown fuse, you have to use a continuity checker (ohm meter) and check each one to see which one is open. I think that interior light might be on the fuse labeled "Dome" - but not sure.

A member of the Facebook Prime group posted about this exact problem: facebook.com/groups/804171320012000/permalink/1655922168170240/ he said it turned out to be the Dome Cut fuse, rather than the Dome fuse. Sounds like what happened to you.
