2019-2021 Rav4 roof rack water leak fix. part 2

I have a 2020 Rav4 XLE. It’s not leaking as far as I can tell. Toyota sent me a letter saying if I have this problem to take it in to Toyota dealer for repairs and they will cover it l. Including the headliner. This offer is good for 10 years from the date I purchased the vehicle. Not all Rav4S are having this issue. Contact Toyota headquarters for more information.

Yes my wife got the letter, and she took it to the dealer, they are going to replace everything affected...they gave her a new Toyota camry for a loaner. Dealer said it may be a month or 2! Til they can fix it. I heard the cost to replace dash,headliner,airbags, etc. May be equal to what the car is worth! We'll see

Really the only thing that worked was a good silicone you can buy at any hardware store.

This is a design flaw. It's known in other countries. Dealers should cover it.

Does anyone know if this affects 2022? Just got a Prime. For the money spent I'd like to think this issue was solved. Especially since i'm about to add a roof rack.
