Installation of this product would be rated a 3 out of 5. 1 being extremely easy and 5 being extremely difficult. It is recommended prior to installing any automotive electronics that the negative battery terminal be disconnected.
** Vehicle programming will be executed using the included OBD Genie C-XBM programmer, key fob programming must be performed by your local Ram dealer or mobile locksmith.

Would this require the sales code updated with the dealer pod? The video intro mentioned showing the viewer about programming the truck for the feature. I may have missed that in the video

Our kit includes the security gateway module bypass and the OBD Genie C-XBM programmer which will enable the “XBM : Remote Start” option code within the Ram’s body control module. For all Ram 1500 DT, a local Ram dealer will be required to program the replacement RF hub and (2) keys.

Is the security link devices needed for installation?

Anytime one of our OBD Genie programmers is used in an FCA vehicle that is 2018 or newer our Security bypasss is needed. But it already comes in many of our kits including this one. What do i do with the purple wire thats left over do i just leave it there or take it out? 😅

If this is referring to the BCM tapping, if you did not have the violet wire, you would just insert this wire to the pin it is supposed to be... But if the violet wire is there, you do not want to leave it removed. It would be best to use a posi-tap or to strip and solder the wire to the violet wire so everything is connected.
