Congratulations to Jimmy Shane and the HomeStreet Bank Miss Madison racing team. Jimmy and the whole Miss Madison racing team has done an outstanding job to put that boat in the Winner's Circle for the Gold Cup, you guys are the best. Now let's get the number one back on that boat and I know for sure it's going to happen.

I've just watched 2B, 4A and 4B live from Poland (thanks H1, thanks YT), the final was a bit too late to stay up, so I've watched it recorded. H1 Unlimited racing is awesome, man, we have some great hydroplane races here in Poland (and good drivers too - several world championships scored), but they're all 350, 750, and 900cc classes - no H1 monsters here. Fun to watch. Thanks!

Hydroplane racing misses the late Bernie little big time.. This event needs to be televised by MAV TV. The Madison regatta has stuggled for significant television sponsorship for years now. I can remember when ABC sports televised this event years ago.

The drone shots really show how small of a course it is.

I think they can add "Unlimited budget" to "Unlimited Hydroplane" tag, right?

Thankfully this doesn't have the wreck in it. My prayers are with the family and friends of Rick Beaty.

So it seems I’ve been hearing people say that the Madison team wins too much. And when I was at the hotel somebody made a comment about bad officiating. Does anybody know anything about that?

back in the days 80s and 90s before Bernie little died everybody was complaining Budweiser wins too much. That's because Budweiser was a multimillion-dollar business and they could afford top of the line equipment. And now with Miss Madison getting good sponsors and new boats being built we are just like the Budweiser team now. When it was oh boy Oberto Miss Madison and now it's Home Street Miss Madison, now they are the top team to beat.

Tate (barely) jumped, so unless Shane broke the party would have likely ended regardless of the hook. Does Tate have boat speed over Shane? Thanks much to whomever provided/operates the drones. And thanks to Jeff Ayler far the call.

He has boat speed and they're both champ's of Hydro

The drone team has Lisa Courneya in Turn 1, Brian Montgomery in Turn 2 and Dave Cooper from EQB View in the infield. Tait Meyer ran the shore camera and produced the show, Kellen Raney ran the board with help from Joe McCord, and Jeff Ayler was on the mic. Thanks again to our live video and drone teams for the excellent coverage!

Just think it's the second Budweiser Boat to win.

Exciting race , unfortunate that Tate hit that pocket on that turn I think he would’ve won it again!
@therifleman56115 жыл бұрын
Even though Tate hooked the boat, he would not have won the race anyway because they reviewed the start and Tate had jumped the gun so therefore Jimmy Shane had it one from the get-go. If you look at the start Tate is already past the white starting Bowie before the clock hits zero.

I feel like if Tate hadn't jumped and hooked it would of been close and Tate would of squeaked out the win

Come back to Detroit. There is no other place to host such an event

Don.t know what the people that run this sport were thinking when they dumped Detroit, the cradle of powerboat racing in America. Back in the sixties and seventies, another prestigious race - the President's Cup in Washington D.C. - was ALWAYS in financial difficulties, but the Unlimited Racing Commission always went back and raced there regardless. Detroit has NO financial problems, but they dumped them anyway. Guess the fans don't count anymore.
