This is the content past competitors want to see. Yeah, the shows themselves are fantastic, but flow marching ruins them. Live is something else. I’d rather hear it raw and up close than the flow marching broadcast.

They do that for mellophones to keep them polished as well as every other shiny silver instrument. The flutes arnt wearing any as well as the saxes or clarinets

@@MysticalOriginz I'm sure that is part of it but the primary reason is your fingers slip on the valves so they need to practice playing perfectly with gloves on because that is how they perform. It doesn't take much time to polish an instrument

My band has us wear gloves for the silver school owned instruments so that our finger oils don’t mess up the lacquer

@@TheHarloffHub in all seriousness, I really appreciate your content. I took 3 years off from teaching as my full time job to start my career in software engineering. I’m finally at a spot where I’m going to start working with a local high school group for their next marching season. I’ve already learned a lot from yours and other videos and I’m excited to take that to the kids I’ll be working with.
